“THE SWAN AND THE JACKAL is about two people that may just be took broken to be put back together. Definitely not what I was expecting, but strangely something I liked.” ~ Under the Covers
I’m not squeamish. But I was a little scared of reading this book because…well Fredrik’s occupation. After reading and mostly enjoying the first two books in the series, and those being about the same couple, I was both excited to change it up and scared about the outcome.
Let me start of with the fact that I did enjoy this book. Even if I am not a fan of the ending. But I am a fan of the author doing what’s right and keeping things real. Because I would much rather be upset about an ending but find it believable, than getting what I think I want but then thinking “yeah, right, that can’t happen.”
To love this book you need to learn to love Fredrik. And I can only say that I did. Learning all about his back story in this book was enlightening and my heart went out to him so many times. Yes, even when he has a woman prisoner, locked up in his basement. His very human connection to Izabel as well is a big thing in this book. His one true friend I think.
Cassia’s story was also heartbreaking. The twist to the story and the mind fuck that you will get reading this is worth it. THE SWAN AND THE JACKAL is about two people that may just be took broken to be put back together. Definitely not what I was expecting, but strangely something I liked.
I wanted to see this end happy. But it ended…. satisfying? Yeah, I’m just torn about this story. But I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for this series next.
