“STILL THE ONE is packed with feel-good pheromones and is guaranteed to make you have a good time. If possible, I would love to live in a Jill Shalvis book!” ~ Under the Covers

Darcy has survived the unthinkable and now that she has recovered well enough, she wants to start living again. With her kind heart and mischievous personality, Darcy often finds herself in a lot of trouble. Especially when in the presence of AJ Colten.

Once turned down by AJ, Darcy continues to deny her feelings for him. But she isn’t the only one remembering that stolen kiss. AJ has cared about Darcy even before her accident and helped her through some very hard times, but he possesses a humble heart and gives Darcy the space she needs even though the last thing he wants is to be away from her. When AJ calls in a favor that can make or break his career, Darcy needs to stand up and face her greatest fears for a man who once broke her heart.

Jill Shalvis takes a different approach in this book. While we are familiar with her signature charm and familiar antics, Shalvis also brings in some more serious topics in this one, mainly concerning Darcy’s accident and her hang-ups on that. It brings a whole lot of depth to the characters.

Darcy and AJ are both incredibly multifaceted characters that have their own flaws. Together though, they are really enjoyable to read about. Their arguing kind of reminds me of something from a Julie James book but also Shalvis brings in the teasing that becomes essential to the storyline.

By midway through the book, I was dying for Darcy and AJ to get together. It was obvious from the beginning that it is meant to be, so waiting for that moment was absolutely excruciating but worth it in the end.

Shalvis also spends some considerable time with her secondary characters. Xander has become a character I’m interested in. And Tyson as well!

STILL THE ONE is packed with feel-good pheromones and is guaranteed to make you have a good time. If possible, I would love to live in a Jill Shalvis book!

Blogger/Reviewer at Under the Covers Book Blog
I’m an obsessive makeup junkie and a compulsive reader. I like to call Under the Covers Book Blog my stomping ground, but when I’m not talking about books with my girls, I write New Adult Dystopian and Contemporary Romance under the pen name Ana Jolene ( I also work as a virtual assistant for authors. You also can find me as a reviewer and columnist for

When it comes to books I’m pretty adventurous. I read everything from Paranormal Romance to Urban Fantasy, New Adult, BDSM, LGBT fiction, Cozy Mysteries and even YA. If it’s got the littlest trace of romance in it, then I’ll probably read it. That being said, my all-time favorite authors are J.R. Ward and Karen Marie Moning.

When I’m not submerged in a good book, you can find me musing about makeup and planners or dreaming about Kpop boys and beaches. Until then, check out my reviews and let’s talk books!
