“A.L. Jackson infuses this book with a whole lot of heart”~ Under the Covers
Although COME TO ME RECKLESSLY is the third book in the Closer To You series, it’s one of those books that I think can work as a standalone well. Since the hero’s sister and family are a big part of this book, it will help to have read their story as well but not totally necessary to enjoy this book.
It’s just that Aly wants her brother, Christopher Moore and his ex-girlfriend Samantha Schultz to get back together. While Samantha has set up a decent life for herself, she still finds something missing. Christopher has remained as a constant memory in her life and despite following her dream job as a teacher, Samantha doesn’t have everything she wants.
The Moores come back into her life like a tornado, turning it upside down so much that Samantha doesn’t know how to deal with it. Especially when she has the added worry of caring for her brother who is sick.
A.L. Jackson infuses this book with a whole lot of heart. Her words are very thoughtful, very eloquent and sweet and I think it matches the tone of the story so well because despite what Samantha and Christopher have endured, there’s also this sense of hope that underlines this book. There is quite a lot of angst as you can guess, but it’s so dark that you don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. Jackson writes slightly longer books but they are ones that still hold your attention because of the way she is able to convey emotions through her words so I don’t mind that in the least.
Because I enjoyed this book so much, I think I’ll be trying out her Take This Regret series and seeing if I like those ones too.

When it comes to books I’m pretty adventurous. I read everything from Paranormal Romance to Urban Fantasy, New Adult, BDSM, LGBT fiction, Cozy Mysteries and even YA. If it’s got the littlest trace of romance in it, then I’ll probably read it. That being said, my all-time favorite authors are J.R. Ward and Karen Marie Moning.
When I’m not submerged in a good book, you can find me musing about makeup and planners or dreaming about Kpop boys and beaches. Until then, check out my reviews and let’s talk books!
