Welcome to UTC! We’re happy to have you return, Katy! Since your last visit here, you’ve written a new book in a brand new series entitled MANWHORE. With a title like that, we have to ask where the inspiration for the series came from!
Hey Francesca! Thanks so much for having me over! Oh, yes. The title is perfect. It perfectly describes my hero’s reputation and the task my heroine has been assigned to, which is to get some juicy little tidbits about him. The idea came to me when I went to a signing in Chicago, and there, I saw this picture on TV about a very handsome playboy. I didn’t catch his name but I was so intrigued I couldn’t stop wondering about him. For days I’d think about this man, and how the media portrayed him – or he portrayed himself to the media – and that’s where my idea for Manwhore came from. 🙂
Malcolm Kyle Preston Logan Saint – Tell us who he is and what you hope readers will enjoy about him the most!
Malcolm Saint is a billionaire playboy who can have anything he wants at the snap of his fingers. What’s great about Saint is that we get a glimpse of him through the social media first – basically, gossip. Before our heroine meets him in person, she judges him based on the exterior persona that he projects to the world. Daredevil. Ruthless. Relentless. A playboy. All true. But when Rachel assigned to get the “real” deets on him, we get to see another side of him that you’d never expect. And that’s what truly made me fall for him – and which I hope, readers will too. There is SO much more to this man than meets the eye. He is so much more than a “manwhore.”
How many books will be in this series?
I’m the kind of writer who writes without planning, so I don’t like to plan that far ahead, more like wait to see which characters are most “talking” to me, wanting their story to be told. So although I’m not sure how many books the total Manwhore series could end up with, I know for sure that the first 2 or 3 books will be about Malcolm and Rachel, and I do hope that their friends (at least some of them) get a story too.
What’s your favorite scene MANWHORE? Can you share a bit from it?
I have so many favorite scenes in MANWHORE. But the very first scene I wrote for this book and which really planted the story in my head is a very sexy club scene. Rachel wants to get “closer” to Saint to be able to glean more information about his lifestyle. So, after managing to get an invite to this posh party he’s hosting, she dolls up and appears, only to discover that Saint’s playboy friends have summoned her to their table. A table where Saint himself is lounging back. It’s the first time Malcolm actually seems to show a little bit of interest in her, his interest especially noticeable when his friends start showing their interest in her and Saint calmly feels the need to put a stop to that with one single word that later Rachel puzzles about all night. 🙂
This is a trick question but between Remy and Saint – who do you prefer?
I give all of my heroes everything I’ve got, but undoubtedly my love is strongest for the one hero who’s book I’m currently writing. The hero keeping me awake at night. The one consuming my thoughts. That’s the guy who always has a strongest grip on my heart.
Take us through a typical writing day for you.
I start writing as soon as I wake up, always with a cup of tea or coffee. Then it’s checking emails and any urgent matters. Once that’s off my plate, I write for a couple of hours before I get ready for the kids to get home from school. When I’m in the “flow” and can’t pull away from the book, I may write 12 hours straight thanks to a very supportive husband and kids! I love love love my writing time. I defend it like something precious and I get a little moody when life rearranges my writing schedule and makes me go through several days without it.
Thanks for stopping by today and sharing with our readers!
Thanks SO much for having me here, Francesca!
Is it possible to expose Chicago’s hottest player—without getting played?
This is the story I’ve been waiting for all my life, and its name is Malcolm Kyle Preston Logan Saint. Don’t be fooled by that last name though. There’s nothing holy about the man except the hell his parties raise. The hottest entrepreneur Chicago has ever known, he’s a man’s man with too much money to spend and too many women vying for his attention.
Mysterious. Privileged. Legendary. His entire life he’s been surrounded by the press as they dig for tidbits to see if his fairytale life is for real or all mirrors and social media lies. Since he hit the scene, his secrets have been his and his alone to keep. And that’s where I come in.
Assigned to investigate Saint and reveal his elusive personality, I’m determined to make him the story that will change my career.
But I never imagined he would change my life. Bit by bit, I start to wonder if I’m the one discovering him…or if he’s uncovering me.
What happens when the man they call Saint, makes you want to sin?
