“SEDUCTION & TEMPTATION is sure to be a thrill ride.” ~ Under the Covers
In this brand new series by Jessica Sorensen, Lolita Anders finds tragedy happening close to her. After her mother unexpectedly dies and then her father gets into some trouble with Frankie Catherlson, one of his enemies, Lola is kidnapped and forced to commit a crime that will undoubtedly change her life forever.
Since this is the prequel novella to the series, Sorensen works at a very quick pace, so quick that it can gloss over important details at times. She teases readers with this unexpected sexual tension between her once best friend, Layton who now works for Frankie. Hatred and lust fight for battle until Lola finds herself giving into those temptations. Getting out is a whole other problem.
I’m very intrigued by the premise of this series and hope that the full length will give readers the answers they are looking for. The romance will undoubtedly bring on a lot of angst and tension since Sorensen is known for amping it up when things get particularly hard.
This is a different route that Sorensen is taking with this series. However, the fast-paced action fits her writing well. Other stories I’ve read where the heroine gets kidnapped often comes across as too uncooperative. I liked Lola. She was afraid enough of her captors, but smart enough not to provoke them with smartass remarks that would stir their anger. If Lola continues to be smart in this dangerous game, she’ll definitely become a force to be reckoned with. SEDUCTION & TEMPTATION is sure to be a thrill ride.
