“True to Bailey’s style, the book starts off with a lot of sex appeal and passion.” ~ Under the Covers
Though RISKIER BUSINESS introduces the Crossing the Line series, it actually returns to two familiar faces, Ruby and Troy from HIS RISK TO TAKE.
True to Bailey’s style, the book starts off with a lot of sex appeal and passion. You can tell a book is written by Tessa Bailey with its prerequisite dirty talk. Although hot beyond belief, there are times when I feel that Bailey’s racier scenes that precedence over plot and story. Before the author even establishes that Ruby’s father has returned, there’s that tension again, building and building. As a reader who absolutely enjoys that type of chemistry, it’s saying something when I feel like it overrides the other aspects of the story. I no longer see this as hot Contemporary but Erotic because of the focus on the sex. If the author spent as much time on the plot/characters as much as she does the sex scenes, Bailey would hit five stars almost always. But the execution isn’t always there.

When it comes to books I’m pretty adventurous. I read everything from Paranormal Romance to Urban Fantasy, New Adult, BDSM, LGBT fiction, Cozy Mysteries and even YA. If it’s got the littlest trace of romance in it, then I’ll probably read it. That being said, my all-time favorite authors are J.R. Ward and Karen Marie Moning.
When I’m not submerged in a good book, you can find me musing about makeup and planners or dreaming about Kpop boys and beaches. Until then, check out my reviews and let’s talk books!
