Interview and Giveaway with Sierra Kincade

Welcome to UTC! Since this is your first time here let’s get to know you a little better!

Hi! I’m so excited to be here! Thanks for having me!

Who is Sierra Kincade? Tell us five interesting things about yourself that readers wouldn’t know:

1. The Masseuse is my first erotic romance, but not my first published book. I have three others in another genre.
2. I attended four colleges before graduating with a degree in psychology. I went back for a master’s in social work, but just went to one college for that. 
3. I feel the Thor movie franchise was a huge missed opportunity. Take off that man’s shirt and give him a hammer. That’s all that needed to happen.
4. I can’t see my own hand in front of my face without my glasses. For my author photos I wandered around blindly, smiling at nobody in particular, while a friend of mine snapped pictures.
5. I can do an excellent shimmy.

THE MASSEUSE is the first in the Body Works trilogy. Can you tell us a bit about it?

Yes! It’s about a masseuse (surprise!) named Anna, who is seduced by Alec, the bodyguard/security type of a very wealthy client. He’s got a few pretty big secrets, and the more she learns about him, the more dangerous (and HOT) things become.

How would you describe Anna Rossi?

I love Anna. She’s just a regular girl; the kind I would want to hang out with. She’s got her baggage of course, but that doesn’t stop her from living her life and taking chances. She’s fun, sassy, and gorgeous – all curves and big, black hair – and she’s genuinely a good person. She likes helping people, kids especially, which will come into play in the next book.

Alec is quite the presence. What would you say if your favorite thing about him?

Let me think…what is an appropriate answer to this question…haha! Kidding, kidding! The thing I love most about Alec is that he’s not really a traditional “good guy,” but he wants to be. His loyalty to the wrong people has gotten him in trouble, and his own lack of self-worth has made him care very little about the course of his life. But when he meets Anna all that changes. He sees the kind of person he was supposed to be. The kind of man he wants to be. I love the resilience and dedication in him. Also, he’s hot.

What inspired you to be a writer and more specifically, why write erotic romance?

I’ve always loved writing stories, even when I was a kid. I loved how stories could transport you to a different world, make you a different person for a little while. That hasn’t changed. Now I love stories where an ordinary girl (like me) is swept up in a steamy love affair, with a hero who’s willing to risk it all for her. I wrote an erotic romance because I love reading erotic romances, and I wanted to write something that made me swoon. Hopefully it makes others swoon too!

What’s your favorite thing to do in your downtime?

I like to dance! Nothing in life can be too awful when you’re swinging your hips.

Do you listen to music as you write? If so, what kind of music do you listen to?

I don’t, but I often use music as an inspiration for scenes outside of my writing sessions! While writing The Masseuse, I listened to a lot of naughty love songs – Gorilla by Bruno Mars comes to mind. Whew. Hot. Love it.

So what’s next for Sierra Kincade?

I’m currently working on the story for a side character in the Body Works series. Amy is Anna’s best friend, and she’s 100% sass. I just love her and can’t wait to share her story with everyone!

Anna Rossi lives by one simple rule: don’t get attached, don’t get hurt. Only Alec Flynn doesn’t play by the rules…

Anna never takes on a massage client without screening him first, but the paycheck offered by billionaire Maxim Stein is too good to turn down. Stein is the richest man she’s ever laid her hands on, and, despite the risks, she trusts that she can take care of herself. After all, she’s handled difficult clients in the past. What she isn’t prepared for is getting caught in a compromising situation by Maxim’s tall, dark, and gorgeous bodyguard—or for the desperate desires he awakens in her…

Alec is dangerous. The mysterious, hard-bodied man is completely irresistible and won’t be refused, no matter what walls Anna puts up to protect herself. But as Anna falls fast for his careful ministrations and mind-blowing skills, she begins to realize that giving herself over to a man with so many secrets isn’t just putting her heart at risk—it’s endangering her life…

She wholeheartedly believes that love stories are real, and you should never choose a partner who doesn't make you laugh.

A few of Sierra’s favorite things:

Bad boys with dirty mouths – English Breakfast tea with two packets of Sugar in the Raw – any movie or show with a choreographed dance routine – cinnamon toast – kids who say funny things – friends who raid her pantry without asking – bootleg jeans – making lists – old Garth Brooks songs – and of course, massages.

Great interview

this looks and sounds fantastic! Thanks for sharing!

I agree with you, Sierra. Dancing is fabulous. You can sometimes get lost in the dance just like you can get lost in a book.

Love the Thor comment, and I love the idea of the freedom and spontaneity of dancing. Now, all we need to do is get a shirtless Thor dancing….
