Wow, November went by so quickly but I think we’ve had another great month filled with some interesting posts and interviews. This year, we went a little hashtag crazy and brought to you some different and hopefully some fun posts of a whole new variety here on UTC. So here’s a quick recap of this months events:
Every year writers go a little crazy for this thing called NANOWRIMO where they aim to write a book within the month of November. I know, I know. Sounds impossible but so many authors have mastered it and we’ve brought in some veterans and first-timers to share their experience with the event!
November would be the same without some Paranormal loving, right? Here we introduced a brand new feature called Legends After Dark which goes into greater details about the folklore and history of some of our favorite mythical creatures.
And thanks to the authors who also provided some amazing posts!
We’ve started a brand new monthly reading challenge which involves only reading old releases on the last week of every month. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been able to read some of the books I’ve been dying to for years with this challenge. It’s a great way to clear out that TBR pile. For more information on that event, you can search #rollbackweek on any social media or check out this post here. Sign ups for December going up soon!
It’s never too early to get into the Christmas spirit I don’t think so we’ve chosen some of our favorite holiday reads to share with you!
After 3 years of blogging, we wanted to let you get to know us a little bit more, so we answered this interview where we share useless/fun details about ourselves in the 20 things you didn’t know about us tag!
Pride series by Shelly Laurenston (Paranormal Romance): I read this for my #rollbackweek and I absolutely loved it! It reminded me so much of why I love Laurenston and her crazy characters. She’s fabulous.
MERRY CHRISTMAS, BABY by Jill Shalvis (Contemporary Romance): This is the novella that will cap off the Lucky Harbor series. It goes back to Chloe and Sawyer, one of my favorite couples and manages to break my heart and make me laugh in a span of a few pages. I love it.
VISION IN SILVER by Anne Bishop (Urban Fantasy): I’m cheating here because this one doesn’t come out until next year, but it’s a great addition to the series.
My number one pick of the month, without a doubt is CECY ROBSON’S A CURSED BLOODLINE. I’ve been following and loving this series and this installment is the best of the series. Another good read this month is MARINA ADAIR’S SUGAR’S TWICE AS SWEET. It’s a new series by Adair and it’s a great start! If you like small town books, you might want to follow this one. Last, MELISSA CUTLER’S UNDEFEATED. This one also has the small town feel with military and sports added to it. I’m liking this series as well.
I have to recommend COWBOY TAKE ME AWAY by Lorelei James. Read this as part of #rollbackweek and as always Ms James has a way of telling a story that draws you in. Such a great book!!
From my reads this month I also enjoyed REVENANT by Larissa Ione coming out in just a couple of weeks. Be sure not to miss that!
THE DARKEST TOUCH by Gena Showalter is another great book not only because it’s Torin and he was scrumptious, but because it moves the overall plot of the series forward.
DOUBLE FULL by Kindle Alexander was my surprise book this month. I wasn’t expecting much from it, bought it when it was on sale, and ended up loving it! And I’ve already purchased more by this author.
Don’t forget to vote in our Readers Choice Awards for 2014! There are two parts of the voting and closes December 6.
Don’t miss this live event with Gena Showalter! We will be interviewing Gena live and she will be answering your questions. Be sure to register.
