Top Ten: Sci Fi Romances

Vampires, werewolves, demons? Pfft, that is so yesterday. Sexy aliens? They are the future. I love a good Sci Fi, the genre ranges so widely, there are those that feel like an Urban Fantasy set in space, and some that have a more erotic stance, and of course you could be in the mood for something more classic like Arthur C Clarke or Isaac Asimov, although they don’t have quite as many aliens wanting to probe you with their love stick. This Top Ten is going to lead you into the future and have you dreaming about your very own sexy alien as we tell you our favourite Sci Fi romances.

Matrix of Destiny series by Dara Joy
I thought I would start off with something a little ridiculous and slightly silly and yet…I couldn’t get enough. It has sexy alpha alien heroes and the females they like to kidnap and perfect if you want something easy and uncomplicated that will make you laugh. Plus, look at this cover? How could you resist that?

Well, he’s on a very important quest, of course. But she’ll find that out soon enough.

Poor Deanna Jones is about to be swept into an amazing, epic journey across time and space… leading straight to the heart.

Ly San Ter Series by Johanna Li9ndsey

You may associate Johanna Lindsey with the excellent Historical Romance that she writes; however, way back in 1990 she also wrote this little Sci Fi romance trilogy. It may be cheesy and yes a little rapey, but why let that stop you from enjoying it?

Brides of the Kindred by Evangeline Anderson3

This series has it all, aliens with fangs, alien menage, aliens with double cocks….and the list goes on. As you have guessed this series is hot and I admit a little far fetched but the romances are always incredibly sweet and Evangeline Anderson writes a hot sex scene. Why wouldn’t you want to read it?

Olivia Waterhouse has just graduated from nursing school and has her whole life ahead of her—until she gets drafted. Problem is, she isn’t being forced into the Army, she’s been chosen as a Kindred bride.

The Kindred are huge alien warriors—a race of genetic traders whose population is ninety-five percent male. After saving Earth from the threat of invasion they demand a reward—the right to find brides among the population. The chances of being chosen are about the same as those of winning the lottery—guess it’s just Liv’s lucky day.

Baird is a Beast Kindred who recently escaped imprisonment and torture at the hands of the malevolent Scourge. Through the torment and pain only one thing kept him sane—the thought of finding and claiming his bride—Olivia. His need to possess her is a burning intensity that threatens to consume them both.

Angry at having her future and her family taken away from her, Liv vows to fight back the only way she can—by resisting. She has one month on the Kindred Mothership with Baird—their claiming period. If she can keep from having bonding sex with him during that time, she can go home and get on with her life on Earth.

But Baird isn’t going to make it easy for her. Every week he is allowed to touch Liv more and more intimately and according to the contract she signed, she has to let him. She’s determined to resist him but his touch sets her on fire. And just as she thinks she knows what she wants, a twist of fate and an attack by the faceless Scourge AllFather changes everything…

2-1Psy Changeling series by Nalini Singh

If you love romance than you have probably heard of or read Nalini Singh before, her writing is beautiful and her romances never fail to win us over. The Psy Changeling series is no different, it could be considered a Paranormal Romance but although there are no aliens (I know, disappointing right?) it is still set in the future and contains three races of humans, each having the potential for a hot romance.

Our Review | Buy Now!

In a world that denies emotions, where the ruling Psy punish any sign of desire, Sascha Duncan must conceal the feelings that brand her as flawed. To reveal them would be to sentence herself to the horror of “rehabilitation”—the complete psychic erasure of everything she ever was…

Both human and animal, Lucas Hunter is a Changeling hungry for the very sensations the Psy disdain. After centuries of uneasy coexistence, these two races are now on the verge of war over the brutal murders of several Changeling women. Lucas is determined to find the Psy killer who butchered his packmate, and Sascha is his ticket into their closely guarded society. But he soon discovers that this ice-cold Psy is very capable of passion—and that the animal in him is fascinated by her. Caught between their conflicting worlds, Lucas and Sascha must remain bound to their identities—or sacrifice everything for a taste of darkest temptation…

The League series by Sherrilyn 1-1Kenyon

Set in future and in space with lots of different alien species and more angst than you can shake a stick at, The League is our favourite Sci Fi series. Sherrilyn Kenyon always manages to deliver a romance I can’t get enough of, with heroes that I wish I could walk into the book and grab. If you are going to try out any Sci Fi, let it be this one.

In the Ichidian Universe, The League and their ruthless assassins rule all. Expertly trained and highly valued, the League Assassins are the backbone of the government. But not even the League is immune to corruption . . .

As her world becomes even deadlier, Kiara must entrust her life to the same kind of beast who once killed her mother and left her for dead. Old enemies and new threaten them both and the only way they can survive is to overcome their suspicions and learn to trust in the very ones who threaten them the most: each other.

Patty McKenn Van Hulle

Your list is more SciFi than I enjoy, but I do love Eve Langlais, Nalini Singh & Sherrilyn Kenyon! They all created such wonderful new worlds that I love to SUBMERGE myself in!

Eve Langlais

I am tickled to see I made this list. The first ever sci-fi romance I read and loved is on there with me! Warrior Woman by Johanna Lindsey. OMG I loved the way those two butted heads.

Amy R

I haven’t read any of the series listed but I have read book(s) by Eve Langlais and Nalini Singh.

I haven’t read Warriors Woman in years. I remember thinking it was a bit beyond silly, but extremely entertaining. My favorite sci fi romances are : “Cordelia’s Honor” by Bujold (it’s made up of two books: “Shards of Honor” and “Barrayar”); “The Last Hour of Gann” by R Lee Smith (if you can handle dark and bizarre you should really check her books out); Definitely agree with you on the Psy Changeling books by Singh and the In Death books by Robb; I also really loved Lauren Dane’s Phantom Corps books (starting with “Undercover”); Kiersten Fay has a sci fi… Read more »

Thanks for sharing your great list! I have read some of these books and have added the others to my TBR list.

Jan the Alan Fan

I can highly recommend Linnea Sinclair’s ‘Games of Command’ and ‘Finders Keepers’. 🙂

Games of Command is a wonderful story, have to agree with number two on the list 🙂
