“Taming the Storm is full of stage drama, complicated relationships and sizzling rock star love scenes.” ~ Under the Covers
TMS has signed a new band called Vintage and Tom, TMS bass guitarist is to manage them during their tour. The catch is that Tom has the hots for her. Can this “player” stay professional when the lead singer of Vintage is the very first woman who ever turned him down? Of course not. He is intrigued and he has no plans on giving this quest up.
At first I didn’t know how I feel about Tom Carter. He is an arrogant, think-he’s-God’s-gift-to-women, often a jerk, womanizing ass. He is a chick magnet and that annoyed me even more. However, I was drawn to him just as I detest him. Tom is hot. He exudes confidence, charm, sex appeal, and he is skilled when it comes to his hands and mouth. The man can strum the guitar, sing like a rock star and sweet talk a woman like there’s no tomorrow….and yes, he can also use this hands and mouth skillfully in bed, among other things. He is also the man every woman would love to tame and claim as their own. Okay, I admit, I am one of them.
I actually loved Layla. While she’s a rock star on stage; she is every bit as the girl next door. She’s sweet, nonchalant and she is a jeans-and-t-shirt kind of girl! She is also the first girl to have turned down the famous “sex God” of TMS. Her broken hearted past made her who she is and she is well respected by her band members. Off stage, I thought she was cute and on stage, well, she rocked it.
Layla and Tom’s romance was rocky and that’s to say the least. They definitely had ups and down and all the feelings, be it happy, sad, annoyance or lust was felt through the pages. You can also feel Layla and Tom’s attraction for each other and at it showed in all their love scenes! So many times, I felt giggly like college girl because of the loving attention they gave each other. These two are definitely insatiable together. Did you notice the icons above?
I do have to warn you that there is an almost cheating incident in this book. If we’re talking technicalities, well, no, it’s not really cheating. One thing I can say is that Taming the Storm is a rock Star novel. There will always be groupies be it man or woman. Temptation, jealousy, and trust will always be an issue. Though I’m not a fan of these types of situation, I was able to deal with it in this book. Ms. Towle did a great job in making me love the protagonist who did the awful deed.
Overall, another great read from Samantha Towle. Just like its previous installments, Taming the Storm is full of stage drama, complicated relationships and sizzling rock star love scenes. I can’t wait to read more of Ms. Towle’s work.
