The Shades of Blue Series
I decided to write the Shades of Blue series one night about midnight. After writing two western historical romances, it felt right to do a series about a family in 1860s. It was easy to pick the location, Montana. My husband is from Big Sky country and is always talking about his homeland. The Cole brothers came from his family story. See my husband has four brothers, and his father remarried after their mother died of a brain aneurism. Of course it being fiction, the Coles’ lives are very different. These handsome cowboys lived during one of the hardest times in American history. A time when a man had to forge his own living and the women were sturdy enough to love them.
I hope you enjoy the latest in the Shades of Blue series. Montana Blue is the first story in the Western Nights Anthology, a great compilation of westerns that any reader will enjoy.
Montana Blue is the story of Mitchell Banks, the owner of the town’s mercantile. A lonely man who battles personal demons and who is settled with the idea that he will never marry. That works well until he happens upon Bethany Jones, a city girl who is totally at a lost in the wild Montana territory.
