Black Dagger Brotherhood Survival: Part I
It’s like Christmas has come eight months early! But instead of another pair of flamboyant and unneeded socks or weird smelling bath salts instead we are getting a over six foot of dark haired, green eyed sexiness. That’s right roll out the red carpet The King is coming to town.
But in our pulse pounding and knicker wetting excitement we need to do a bit of preparation to survive the excitement. So here at Under the Covers we decided we would put together a survival kit, split into three parts to get you through the release of The King with as little damage to yourself and well meaning friends and family as possible.
SETTING THE SCENE
For any good operation to work, you need to do some preparation, diving straight in can be foolish and lead to unexpected and horrifying consequences. Imagine this….getting to a really good scene Wrath is about to ravage Beth to the best of his considerable abilities BUT WAIT you can’t read any further… has a monster broke in to your house, plunged his claws into your stomach whilst growling ferociously at you or is that your stomach rumbling? Lets hope its the latter, if it’s the former you’re on your own! Preparation my friends is key.
So here are our top three pointers for setting up a successful read:
1. A day off work/child card/husband care.
Book holiday, fake illness, catch a real illness (nothing fatal though or anything that would prevent you from reading) get a baby sitter, just make sure you have a day or two clear of people and work. You need to make the time, getting fired for reading on the job or jumping the cute black haired guy in the office and calling him Wrath whilst you have your dirty way with him…probably not good.
2. Supplies.
You need to eat and drink, we don’t want you starving and dehydrated. So grab a few bottles of water, some snack food, nothing that needs heating or preparation; sandwiches, crisps, chocolate as long as you need to do is unwrap it, it’s all good. We also recommend you bring B.O.B. sometimes a girl needs a little relief when she is dealing with the Brothers.
3. Nesting.
You need to find a good seat, somewhere you can burrow into and surround yourself with your snacks and drink, but still have the ability to stretch out in comfort and read till your eye cross. So find somewhere and set up everything you may need in reaching distance.
J.R. Ward’s # 1 New York Times bestselling Black Dagger Brotherhood continues as a royal bloodline is compromised by a grave threat to the throne.
Long live the King…
After turning his back on the throne for centuries, Wrath, son of Wrath, finally assumed his father’s mantle–with the help of his beloved mate. But the crown sets heavily on his head. As the war with the Lessening Society rages on, and the threat from the Band of Bastards truly hits home, he is forced to make choices that put everything–and everyone–at risk.
Beth Randall thought she knew what she was getting into when she mated the last pure blooded vampire on the planet: An easy ride was not it. But when she decides she wants a child, she’s unprepared for Wrath’s response–or the distance it creates between them.
The question is, will true love win out… or tortured legacy take over?
Just make sure you follow our guidelines and you are guaranteed a successful read with minimal bloodshed and heartbreak. Report back next time for our help hints and tips on what to do whilst reading!
Lol can’t wait to see what part 2 contains.
LOL, you are thinking my kind of thoughts and I agree, can’t wait to see what is involved for part # 2.
If i t gets even closer to my likes, I’ll have to declare you a mind reader.
Please keep all information you obtain from reading my thoughts to yourself, no sharing allowed.
Want to continue to walk around without my face being aflame all the time.
Thanks
Hahahaha love it!
Buahaha! Nice, yes, that was practical and helpful.
Thank you for the helpful suggestions! Don’t know how I would survive reading The King without them. 😉
Haa love these!
Fun post and after reading all those books I can say it get’s a little dangerous for people around us.
Too funny! I can’t wait to setup my own King time. I would love to be able to follow your steps. I am so excited for my VS copy to get here. It’s on my kindle but have to finish my current book before I can start. If I don’t get done soon though, I might DNF it just so I can get to the King. Mmmmm Wrath!
