If CLIPPED WINGS is any indication of the level of excellence one can expect from Helena Hunting, then she needs to be an author that everybody needs to watch out for. ~ Under the Covers
Newcomer author Helena Hunting dazzles with the first book in the Clipped Wings series.
An intelligent tattoo artist named Hayden Stryker will be sweeping up reader’s hearts with his charm and sex appeal. From the very first opening paragraph, I knew that Hayden wasn’t going to be your typical bad boy. Right off the bat I knew he was smart. Much of that has to do with Hunting’s writing style. Both eloquent and free-flowing, Hunting writes with a flourish, weaving together words that set her characters apart from the crowd.
Also not typical is the heroine, Tenley Page. As we learn about her past and the guilt she harbours, more and more layers are revealed in her character. Though somewhat angsty, CLIPPED WINGS isn’t bogged down by the emotions to the point that it becomes saturated by it. There is a good balance between character development and plot that I felt completely submerged into the story right away.
I am thrilled to have discovered a new author whose work I can devour. If CLIPPED WINGS is any indication of the level of excellence one can expect from Helena Hunting, then she needs to be an author that everybody needs to watch out for.
Here’s my Hayden:
