Hey guys! Annie here. So most of you may know that there is one series for me that stands out over the rest of the books I love and that’s Karen Marie Moning’s Fever series. Today KMM celebrates the paperback release of ICED, the sixth book in the series.
In a world filled of chaos, powerful creatures and mysterious evil, fifteen year old Dani O’Malley stands in the middle of it all. With her own special abilities and crazy personality, trust me when I say there will never be a dull moment in this book.
Don’t believe me? Then let me share with you some of my favourite quotes from this series. Quote number one comes from the one and only Ryodan:
“I like sex for breakfast, kid. I eat early and often.”
*melts* I can’t seem to get enough of Ryodan, so here’s one more quote from him.
“One day, kid, you’ll be willing to mortgage your fucking soul for somebody.”
Hmm, interesting words there, Ryodan. But I am curious to see who will be the lucky one to penetrate his icy cold heart when this is all said and done. Any predictions?
Quote three comes from our dearest, Dani:
“Life’s a choice: you can live in black and white, or you can live in colour. I’ll take every shade of the rainbow and the gazillion in between!”
In the dark and emptiness of the 1 AWC (After the Wall Crash), Dani is a bright blazing source of light. As her own kind of superhero, will she have what it takes to take her beloved Dublin and restore it to what it once was all on her own?
“There are only two things to worry about in life: either you’re free or you’re not. If you’re free, there’s nothing to worry about. If you’re not, you kick the shit out of everything around you until you are.”
I feel like this quote completely sums up Dani in just a few words. She’s a fighter through and through.
The last quote is also from Dani, but this time, she speaks of Ryodan…
“I know that when he has sex he laughs like the world is a perfect place. And when he did that, my hands curled into fists because I thought about touching his face like maybe I could catch joy in my hands and hold it.”
Now the question is, in BURNED (out January 2015) do you think we will find out who Dani ends up with: Ryodan, Dancer or Christian? Let me know your predictions in the comments!

#1 New York Times bestselling author Karen Marie Moning picks up where Shadowfever leaves off with Iced, the first book in her hotly anticipated new urban paranormal trilogy set in the world of the blockbuster Fever series.
The year is 1 AWC—After the Wall Crash. The Fae are free and hunting us. It’s a war zone out there, and no two days are alike. I’m Dani O’Malley, the chaos-filled streets of Dublin are my home, and there’s no place I’d rather be.
Dani “Mega” O’Malley plays by her own set of rules—and in a world overrun by Dark Fae, her biggest rule is: Do what it takes to survive. Possessing rare talents and the all-powerful Sword of Light, Dani is more than equipped for the task. In fact, she’s one of the rare humans who can defend themselves against the Unseelie. But now, amid the pandemonium, her greatest gifts have turned into serious liabilities.
Dani’s ex–best friend, MacKayla Lane, wants her dead, the terrifying Unseelie princes have put a price on her head, and Inspector Jayne, the head of the police force, is after her sword and will stop at nothing to get it. What’s more, people are being mysteriously frozen to death all over the city, encased on the spot in sub-zero, icy tableaux.
When Dublin’s most seductive nightclub gets blanketed in hoarfrost, Dani finds herself at the mercy of Ryodan, the club’s ruthless, immortal owner. He needs her quick wit and exceptional skill to figure out what’s freezing Fae and humans dead in their tracks—and Ryodan will do anything to ensure her compliance.
Dodging bullets, fangs, and fists, Dani must strike treacherous bargains and make desperate alliances to save her beloved Dublin—before everything and everyone in it gets iced.
