WHITE HOT KISS possesses everything that readers love about Jennifer L. Armentrout. Suspense-driven action, hot heroes and an intrepid heroine have all made into this book, so I’m sure there is lots to love about this series already.~ Under the Covers

In the first full length book of The Dark Elements series, Jennifer L. Armentrout brings together demons and gargoyles – an enticing mix for sure as I have never seen anything like it yet! As Wardens, this race of gargoyles are tasked with protecting the humans from evil.

Seventeen year old Layla is caught between two men – Zayne, a Warden whom she has burned for forever and Roth, a cocky demon who seems to know everything there is to know about Layla. Oh, and there’s also the fact that Layla may be the reason for a demon uprising. So you can say that Layla has her hands full juggling that one!

WHITE HOT KISS possesses everything that readers love about Jennifer L. Armentrout. Suspense-driven action, hot heroes and an intrepid heroine have all made into this book, so I’m sure there is lots to love about this series already.

However, as an avid reader and a big fan of Armentrout’s writing, I found that Layla’s character seemed too similar to Armentrout’s other YA heroines. If I didn’t know any better, I would say that they were essentially the same person just placed in a different world. Now, I know that isn’t a real reason to complain because if you liked her other series, then I’m sure you’ll find much to love about this one, but in terms of starting fresh with a new idea and a new world, I was also looking for a change in personality in terms of Layla.

Again, the same goes with her heroes. Hot and charming, Armentrout knows just how to write fun and sexy heroes, but as for the love triangle, I am heavily leaning to one side and will wait until the next book to really decide which team I am on. I think it’s very difficult to pull of the love triangle so I’m curious to see how Armentrout will play this one out.

If you love Armentrout’s YA series, then The Dark Elements series is sure to be a hit! With a vast new world to explore, Armentrout will surely allow her imagination to flew with this demon/gargoyle hybrid world!

Note: The exclusive excerpt at the end of the novel will only be available in the print edition, not the ebook.

I’m an obsessive makeup junkie and a compulsive reader. I like to call Under the Covers Book Blog my stomping ground, but when I’m not talking about books with my girls, I write New Adult Dystopian and Contemporary Romance under the pen name Ana Jolene ( I also work as a virtual assistant for authors. When it comes to books I’m pretty adventurous. I read everything from Paranormal Romance to Urban Fantasy, New Adult, BDSM, LGBT fiction, Cozy Mysteries and even YA. If it’s got the littlest trace of romance in it, then I’ll probably read it. That being said, my all-time favorite authors are J.R. Ward and Karen Marie Moning.

When I’m not submerged in a good book, you can find me musing about makeup and planners or dreaming about Kpop boys and beaches. Until then, check out my reviews and let’s talk books!

I’ve only read her Lux series which I loved, but I was drawn in by the new world of this one. I still have to read the prequel and then I’ll jump in.

Thanks Annie.
