“This book is raw and dirty, but also deep and emotional.” ~Under the Covers
What an unlikely couple Mitch and Sam are! They lead completely opposite lives but they are so compatible otherwise. Mitch is older and has lived his life and explored his likes. Sam just has the burning desire to do so. The first time they meet and what should’ve been a “one night stand” turns into more when they can’t stop thinking about each other.
Mitch is a trucker passing through town with a delivery. He sees Sam, who is just a young college boy working at his uncle’s pharmacy. His parents died and left him in the care of his aunt/uncle and they haven’t been kind to him. I felt for Sam the whole time because he hasn’t had a chance to be truly happy. Yes, he’s a bit whiny. OK a lot sometimes. But that’s something that is to be expected because of his age.
This book is raw and dirty, but also deep and emotional. This book is more than just the physical BDSM. Sam has a need to be used, maybe even like a whore, more so than any actual spanking or rope play. It’s how he deals with those feelings in a world where you’re supposed to have enough self respect not to want that. Don’t get me wrong, the sex is still pretty damn hot! It’s just more intense when you take in the reasoning behind some of the stuff.
The threesome and the whole Randy dynamic… I wasn’t such a big fan. I am a bit confused as to what all went down between Mitch and Randy in the past and what their relationship really was. I get that it never worked out that way but it was still just a bit fuzzy. I would’ve probably liked better a random threesome with less of the emotional attachments. However, again, it was still hot.
I loved seeing Mitch and Sam opening up as their travels together continued. And they got to a point where they knew they could make something work. And work it will take!
I am excited to see what this series brings next!
