If you’re a fan of charismatic heroes, then you’ll definitely love Jase and his charming ways. ~ Under the Covers
BE WITH ME is the anxiously awaited second book in the Wait For You series. I was really excited about this book because of the hints we got to Teresa Hamilton’s experiences with her boyfriend. Now having moved past that terrible relationship she had, Teresa is wanting to move forward in life. But when a bad injury threatens her dance career, Teresa is finding it hard to fight for what she believes in.
Jase Winstead is much like Cam, the hero in the previous book in that he says all the right things. He is a little reckless, but not to the point where he is irresponsible, just sexy. He’s charming and good-looking and it also helps that he is taking up a role of being a guardian for his brother. It paints a very flawless picture and although I think it makes his character attractive, I also felt that it was too similar to Cam in personality. There was nothing to really set him apart from the characters to really make me fall head over heels in love with him. We have a hero who is trying to help the heroine out of the bad situations she is in. I was looking for something a little more this time around.
Teresa and Jase have shared a kiss in the past. It was explosive with lights, cameras and flashes everywhere and has been ingrained in both of their minds. The sexual tension is present but fleeting, taking way too long to really develop. I found the beginning to be quite slow, simmering around for awhile before it really started to pick up. However, -Thank God! – it did and after that slow start, I found myself enjoying the romance more.
While not my favourite of J. Lynn’s work so far, I do think readers will still enjoy this story. If you’re a fan of charismatic heroes, then you’ll definitely love Jase and his charming ways.
