12 Days of Christmas: Sharing Traditions with UTC

It’s coming to that time of year the handcuffs are clinking merrily and the vibrators are buzzing away in our stockings (especially if Fran has bought you a Christmas present!) and we are surrounded by more chocolate than we could lick of Jason Momoa’s naked body… second thoughts maybe not, there is always room for licking more chocolate off Jason Momoa’s naked body. We at Under the Covers would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and also thank you for taking time out and reading our blog. We have so much fun writing it and hope you have had just as much fun reading and look out for 2014 where we have much more exciting things to come!

Fave Xmas song
I am currently on my Blake Shelton kick so I’ve been playing his “Cheers, It’s Christmas” album and love “Blue Christmas” but most recently just bought Kelly Clarkson’s “Wrapped in Red” and I especially like “Underneath the Tree” and “Baby It’s Cold Outside”

Fave Xmas recipe
I don’t know if this is Christmas but it definitely speaks holiday times to me….Pecan pie!  Mmmmm Although I’ve never ventured to make one and always opt for the safe option of picking one up at my favorite bakery.  There’s nothing better than pecan pie!

Fave Xmas tradition
I have been setting up a Nativity Scene since I was a little girl.  Not just a small thing but I go all out and do the whole town.  Houses, churches, stores, people, bridges, water, mountains, roads, lights, you name it I do it.  I have been known to stalk the Fontanini store throughout the year to catch a sale and get more stuff for it.  I am obsessed but it’s been a family tradition and one I love and have to continue.

Least fave thing about Christmas
The stress of not having enough time it seems to get everything done.  I am one of those last minute people and when things get down to the wire it gets crazy!

What does your tree look like?
This year I’ve actually set up 2 trees on the first floor of my house.  A regular big green tree with a gold-red and green ornament theme, and a smaller white tree with teal, purple and lime green ornaments for my family room.  I’ve always had the tradition of switching color schemes with my trees and this year I have the best of both worlds!

Now it’s your turn!
What are some of your favorites this time of year?

I hate Christmas songs!! I’m Team Grinch these days XD
On January 6th we eat this dessert in Spain: http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5268/5841462251_1e883e4e94_o.jpg
It has a small toy and a bean inside. If you get the bean, you have to pay the whole thing.

Next time put a pic of that Nativity Scene!! I prefer one of those instead of a Christmas Tree XD

In my tiny town go big and set up this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIRLyCwAaeQ
