~ JACI BURTON ~
Congratulations on the release of HOLIDAY GAMES. You go back to the original family we fell in love with, the Rileys, in this novella and one of my favorite couples still to date. Do you miss writing about them now that we are seeing a different group of guys the series focuses on?
Thank you! I do love the Rileys a lot. But I’m still putting them in my books even though I’ve moved on to other characters, so my readers can still look forward to having them appear in some of my future books. 😉
What was your favorite scene in the book, if it’s not too spoilery?
Definitely the Magic 8 Ball scene.
Liz and Gavin still have so much chemistry and I love to see that you haven’t changed them a bit with time. Especially Liz! What do you think is her best quality?
I love Liz. She’s probably been one of my favorite characters to write. The thing I love most about her is her tenaciousness, her never-give-up attitude.
Have you considered doing a spin off series with the Riley offsprings? 🙂 I know, I’m greedy.
Heh. Maybe someday.
And because we are celebrating the Holiday season, we would love to find out some of your favorites. So here’s a few quick fire questions!
Favorite tradition: We don’t have a lot of traditions, but I have to say it’s not officially the holiday season until I’ve watched White Christmas. It reminds me of watching it with my parents when I was a kid, and that makes me smile because they’re both gone now and I miss them both, especially at the holidays.
Favorite song: Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas. Sung by Judy Garland.
Favorite drink: Rum punch
Favorite food: I’m a big fan of rum balls. (Are we sensing a rum theme here?)
Are you done decorating? – Yes!
And last but not least, feel free to tease us a bit with what’s to come in MELTING THE ICE!
Carolina Preston is on deadline to produce her own fashion line, and she has a dilemma—she needs needs a few famous faces as models, and when her brother, Gray, suggests hockey player Drew Hogan, she initially balks, because she and Drew have a past. But he’d be a great catch to walk the runway, so she can’t really complain—too much. Working with Drew comes with its own set of complications, namely having him in her life again, reminding her of all the reasons she fell head over heels for him in college, and why she’s worked so hard over the years to forget that one passionate night they shared.
Drew, on the other hand, would like nothing more than to start things up again and prove to Carolina he’s not the same guy he was back then. He’s a man now, not a boy, and he won’t trample all over her feelings and her heart this time. But Carolina is guarded and won’t let him in, so it’s going to take a lot of effort on Drew’s part to melt the ice guarding Carolina’s heart.
A Holiday Novella A Riley wedding is in the works, a Riley Christmas means a house full of family, and baby making is on Liz Riley’s mind. Chasing Gavin around and meeting in dark closets can be fun, but Liz is more than a little determined. Even with family in every corner of the house, Gavin is more than ready to do whatever Liz wants—especially when sex is involved. It’s a Riley family Christmas.
