All the grand elements are there, they just need to be polished and shown to the world like the true gems they are. ~ Under the Covers

As you may know, I’m quite the Toni Blake fan. WILDEST DREAMS was originally published as In Your Wildest Dreams and takes place in New Orleans featuring a sexy Cajun and a very inquisitive heroine named Stephanie.

Stephanie Grant is on a mission. Her sister Tina has been missing. She has spent her life as an high-paid hooker but when Stephanie doesn’t hear from her, she gets worried. At the desparate end, Stephanie poses as a hooker herself, entering the bar where she hopes someone knows her sister. This is where she meets Jake Broussard, the bartender and ex-cop who knows just how much trouble Stephanie is putting herself in to find her sister.

While I liked Stephanie’s determination and her willingness to risk anything for her sister, I also thought that there were a few moments where she got in over her head. I understood Jake’s frustration with her, but I could also understand her drive. As a result, I went back and forth liking Stephanie because of her stubborn ways.

Though this story does sound like it would have a lot of suspense in it, it’s actually more contemporary in feeling. The circumstances in which they find themselves in is just the way they are brought together. However, Stephanie and Jake also take their time in opening up to each other.

I loved Jake and loved reading about his kindness towards the homeless girl. The presence of flaws only enriches the characters in this book, as well as the sex scenes which are off-the-chart-hot!

WILDEST DREAMS may not be my favorite Toni Blake book, but you can see just how much growth she has had as a writer when you read her earlier works. All the grand elements are there, they just need to be polished and shown to the world like the true gems they are.

I’m an obsessive makeup junkie and a compulsive reader. I like to call Under the Covers Book Blog my stomping ground, but when I’m not talking about books with my girls, I write New Adult Dystopian and Contemporary Romance under the pen name Ana Jolene (http://www.anajolene.com). I also work as a virtual assistant for authors. You also can find me as a reviewer and columnist for FreshFiction.com.

When it comes to books I’m pretty adventurous. I read everything from Paranormal Romance to Urban Fantasy, New Adult, BDSM, LGBT fiction, Cozy Mysteries and even YA. If it’s got the littlest trace of romance in it, then I’ll probably read it. That being said, my all-time favorite authors are J.R. Ward and Karen Marie Moning.

When I’m not submerged in a good book, you can find me musing about makeup and planners or dreaming about Kpop boys and beaches. Until then, check out my reviews and let’s talk books!

I haven’t read anything by Toni Blake but I do like contemporary and erotic genres. FYI, If a new to me author has a quote on a book from an author I love it makes me want to buy and I love Lori Fosters work.
