“I was so in love and enthralled with Perry and Dex.” ~Under the Covers

I’m not sure why I waited so long to get back into reading this series.  Well, I do know I was trying to be responsible and read my review books but…I was missing out!

RED FOX escalates the level of creepy horror just a notch from what we experienced in DARKHOUSE by mixing in Native American legends and skin walkers.  No ghosts here.

Perry and Dex now have a chance at filming their show with a bit more support from their Internet TV Network.  Dex’s old friend and ex-bandmate, Maximus, is sort of a ghost whisperer now and ran into a situation of a “haunted house” that he thought would be perfect for Dex and the EIT show.  But because the couple that owns the house is religious, Dex and Perry have to pretend to be married so they can stay there with no problems. Gahhh

The weirdness starts from the beginning.  Foxes on the bed in the middle of the night, rocks flying at the house and bird attacks.  That coupled with Perry’s dreams which always paint a grim future and you have a recipe for one creepy story.

But at the core, even though what they were there to film and research was interesting and creeptastic, I was so in love and enthralled with Perry and Dex.  We learn so much more about Dex in this book, and that perhaps is due to the fact he was off his meds.  I do know I have issues but boy do I love me some fucked up guys!  Dex is just adorable and that softer side of him needs to come out more often.  And for the Perry and Dex lovers, yes you will be very happy with the relationship growth in this book.  Perry herself has already shown such an improvement from the first book it was just shocking.

RED FOX definitely ups the ante in the EIT saga, the dangers are high and the emotions even more.  I can’t wait for what’s to come!

About Karina Halle

The daughter of a Norwegian Viking and a Finnish Moomin, Karina Halle grew up in Vancouver, Canada with trolls and eternal darkness on the brain. This soon turned into a love of all things that go bump in the night and a rather sadistic appreciation for freaking people out. Like many of the flawed characters she writes, Karina never knew where to find herself and has dabbled in acting, make-up artistry, film production, screenwriting, photography, travel writing and music journalism. She eventually found herself in the pages of the very novels she wrote (if only she had looked there to begin with).

Karina holds a screenwriting degree from Vancouver Film School and a Bachelor of Journalism from TRU. Her travel writing, music reviews/interviews and photography has appeared in publications such as Consequence of Sound, Mxdwn and GoNomad Travel Guides. She currently splits her time between her apartment in downtown Vancouver and her sailboat, where a book and a bottle of wine are always at hand.
