“TEAR YOU APART tugs at the strings of the heart and leaves you a bit empty.  TEAR YOU APART is an enthralling and sad, erotic and deep, gut-wrenching experience.” ~Under the Covers

I never really know what to expect when I open a Megan Hart novel, I just know I have to be prepared for an emotional and thought-provoking ride.  TEAR YOU APART tugs at the strings of the heart and leaves you a bit empty.  TEAR YOU APART is an enthralling and sad, erotic and deep, gut-wrenching experience.  It’s not really so much a love story, but a journey of these characters until they find themselves.

Megan Hart is a master of words. There are few authors out there that can transport you into a story and into a character as well as she can do it.  And in this case, I did not want to be the heroine.  Elisabeth is in her 40s.  She’s been married to Ross for a long time and her marriage has become a bit stale.  Her kids are now grown and not living at home.  She’s stuck in the monotony of her daily life.  She doesn’t lack for anything, except attention.

TEAR YOU APART is the story of Elisabeth as she finds some of what she didn’t even realize she was missing.  As the author said, it was like not knowing you were thirsty until you were offered something to drink.  Elisabeth and Will’s affair is combustible.  Neither one of them are at their best moment, but they can fill a void in the other person’s life.

Cheating is always a hard topic to face in books, but what Megan Hart does well in writing infidelity is she never sugar coats it.  Always keeps it real.  There are actions, and there are consequences to those actions.  That infidelity doesn’t always lead to a much better future than what the characters started out with.  But maybe is the place to start to try and find happiness.

There’s nothing better than a book that can make you feel, even if it’s sad.  No one does it better than Megan Hart and TEAR YOU APART is the perfect example.  Be warned, this is not the story where you can find a neatly tied happily ever after.

Favorite Quotes:

“Here,” the universe says, “here is a chance for you to not simply be ‘fine’ or ‘all right’ or ‘resigned.’ Here is a chance for you to be satisfied and content and maybe even on occasion deliriously, amazingly, exuberantly happy and full of joy. For you to have everything you didn’t know you needed, but always felt was missing.”

“That life.
This life.
It looks as if you can have both. I mean, they’re both right there, one on top of the other, and it looks as if they’ll blend.
But they never will.
So, you take this thing.
You take this thing you want,
and you put it in a box,
and you close the lid.”

I get easily distracted by pictures of sexy guys and have tons of book boyfriends.I keep all my alpha males chained to my basement and guard them fiercely.*Back off bitches*I like to see Jason Momoa as a lot of those boyfriends, because ….. mmmmmmm JASON.MOMOA!

I’m a part time graphic designer (yes, everything you see on UTC has been done by me), run my husband's business from home and on a good day I’m a self appointed superwoman (she who can do it all).I love blogging with my girls and I couldn’t do it any other way!My first love is everything paranormal, but in the past few years I’ve re-learned to love contemporary romance.Every once in a while I like to mix things up with a historical romance, a steampunk or an LGBT book.Because I need variety to avoid book slumps.I don’t always need an HEA although I prefer one, and I love authors that can rip my heart out and make me ugly cry.
