Escalera has a great voice for Contemporary Romance. It’s fun and flirty, sweeping you up in a romance that is thrilling and passionate. ~ Under the Covers
Kayla Martinez is a saucy one, but she wants Nico LaCosta to discover that for himself. As a new RN at a hospital, Kayla is making big strides in her life, but her romantic life is lacking a little bit. So when she sees her childhood best friend again, Kayla plays the part of the siren and tries to make Nico realize just what he is missing out on.
Nico has recently been injured. As he nurses his broken arm, he is glad to have the hot and sexy little Kayla around to help him. At times I thought Nico to be a mama’s boy. He really does have a young heart, so careless and free. However, his feelings for Kayla are of the adult nature.
Escalera has a great voice for Contemporary Romance. It’s fun and flirty, sweeping you up in a romance that is thrilling and passionate. I loved Kayla’s game-for-anything attitude, it really kept the chemistry fun and exciting. The dialogue in this novella is tautly-written and witty. Escalera isn’t afraid to play around with her characters and bring out the flirty side and I admire that about her writing.

When it comes to books I’m pretty adventurous. I read everything from Paranormal Romance to Urban Fantasy, New Adult, BDSM, LGBT fiction, Cozy Mysteries and even YA. If it’s got the littlest trace of romance in it, then I’ll probably read it. That being said, my all-time favorite authors are J.R. Ward and Karen Marie Moning.
When I’m not submerged in a good book, you can find me musing about makeup and planners or dreaming about Kpop boys and beaches. Until then, check out my reviews and let’s talk books!
