Stepping into a book: What I would do if I visited Jill Shalvis’ Lucky Harbor series

When asked what fictional town I’d love to live in for a day, I always have a go-to answer – I’d visit Jill Shalvis’ Lucky Harbor.  Why? –Coastal town, gorgeous guys, an abundance of chocolate cake? I’m there!

But when asked what I’d do once I’m there, I think this is where it might start to get a little crazy. Naturally, I’d first visit Maddie, Tara and Chloe at the B&B to get settled. Unpack, relax, work on my tan, get Ford to take me sailing even though I get sea sick easily. It’d be worth it though, just for the chance to spend some time with a certain tanned, green-eyed sailor. ford

Day two would consist me more relaxation, this time in the form of pampering. While I laze around, Chloe can work her magic. Perhaps a facial or even a manicure of Trust Fund Baby would brighten up my day!

No vacation would be complete without gorging on copious amounts of food so I would direct myself to Eat Me diner where Lucky Harbor’s residents are a continued presence. But the real company I’ve come to visit is the large selection of baked goods that Eat Me has to offer. You can find me pressed up against the glass housing all the chocolate cakes. Vacation is all about throwing out that diet and gorging on glorious food. Do this at least twice with chocolate because what’s food without chocolate?

After purchasing a pair of Spanx after my diet failure, I’ll foolishly promise Maddie I’ll do yoga on the beach every early morning with her and then hide every time she tries to hold me to that promise. Who am I kidding? I would never work out while on vacation!

Around this time, there will probably be more devouring of foods. cake

Then I’d take the girls to go for a mud bath in the middle of the night. If I’m lucky Ranger Hot Buns aka Forest Ranger Matt will catch us. And if I’m REALLY lucky, sexy sheriff Sawyer will come and then he’d have to handcuff me.

At this point, I hope Lucille, resident social media guru and gossip queen of Lucky Harbor snaps a picture of me while in this handcuffed state. I’ve always thought I had that star quality, so what better way to cash in my five minutes of fame than getting my picture taking while handcuffed by Sawyer, my favorite LH hero, and having that posted all over Facebook for everyone to see! As they say, there is no such thing as bad publicity.

Donning my shades because I am now the It Girl of Lucky Harbor, I’ll make one last stop to my other LH boyfriend, Josh. I wouldn’t mind walking his dog if it meant I got a chance to shack up with the hot doctor!

And if all goes well, I may even get lucky in Lucky Harbor and snag myself a hero for myself 😉
