RAMBLINGS FROM RT
It’s taken us this long to get back to a less zombiefied state after coming back from RT. Yes, it kicked our butts, but the same as I feel every time when I come back from a convention…It was so worth it! This year RT was a blast and the UTC crew enjoyed every second of it!
But as we’ve already seen a ton of posts about RT and what people thought, we don’t want to give you another recap of our experiences, even though they were amazing. So we’ve asked others to share with us, and all of you, their highlight from RT. This might have to be broken down in more than one post, so stayed tuned this weekend for more!
This year’s RT was different for me than the last. It was so much more relaxed and a way to just meet and hang out with friends and authors who have become good friends as well. It was less the fangirl (although I had that still) and more the fun. My first highlight was my UTC gals, Leigh and Angela. It was actually my first time meeting Angela in person (my personal pain in the ass) so I was extremely excited and, along with Leigh whom I have met and love, we had a blast! Wouldn’t be the same without you girls!
But if we talk about actual things that happened, I had a huge squee and fangirl moment when I was invited to dinner with some authors and yes, I was probably starstruck and speechless. Margaritas couldn’t even help! I can’t even begin to describe my excitement to have had the chance to hang out with those amazing women, who shall remain unnamed, but who are so much fun and I’ve been a fan of their work since even before I started blogging or even my GoodReads days.

The highlight was definitely the book fair. It was such a thrill to be able to connect with readers who I’d met online. Not only that, but I was able to meet new readers too. It was awesome!!
RT was daunting, fast moving and all encompassing. Best thing about it, seriously? Len Gunn.

MEETING YOU!! : ) Actually; I’m quite serious – meeting readers and bloggers/reviewers is always the highlight for me. We work so hard alone in a room all year; to meet the people who love our characters and worlds is absolutely the BEST reward!
Meeting authors whom I’ve admired for so long, and to have them be so kind were the biggest OMG moments of RT. But to then to meet fans who loved MY novels? There are no words to describe the joy they brought me.
My highlight without a doubt was seeing the Brazillian attendee, Janda Montenegro, see snow for the first time in her life and walk outside with her hands in the air and a smile on her face that was so genuine and happy. Shes from Brazil and it never snows there. It was a priceless moment and Im glad I got to capture it.

RT was an incredible experience to fan girl my fave authors, steep myself in important writing and publishing info, and hang at the bar with all my awesome new friends I met! I felt the Love Angela Carr! Meeting my Posse members is a true highlight of the conference!!!
My best moment was meeting readers in an extremely lengthy elevator ride. Seriously, a highlight moment for me to visit with people who loved my books. I wanted to ride the elevators more often after that experience. 😉
Expect the unexpected! RT patrons never fail to surprise me with their appreciation and fun loving attitudes!
