“But this was FAR from a fairy tale my friends. This is a baby making book. I am still amazed that this was the authors very first book.” ~ Under the Covers

Have you ever wanted a story to skip the beginning of a book and just get to the meat and potatoes of the story? Have you ever wanted the story to keep going after it happily ever after-ed? Well, have I got a story for you! The Reluctant Countess by Wendy Vella has just what you are looking for. Sophie, Countess of Monmouth, has a very big secret that she is desperately trying to hide from the ‘ton’. Patrick, Earl of Coulter, is just as desperate to find out what that secret is. As our couple is drawn to each other, they begin to realize that they are exactly what each other needs.

A person from Sophie’s past threatens to take away the life that she has tried to keep safe for her sister in law Lettie and her son Timmy (insert ominous music here), so can she trust Patrick with not only her secret, but with her very life? Can Patrick look past his own cold upbringing and show the emotions that he has never shown to the world?

This book took me, shoved me in a burlap sack and proceeded to beat the hell out of me! I was run through such a gamut of emotions that at times I didn’t know which way was up! This story really has everything. Romance, action, humor, drama, incredible smexy time. (whooo, someone get mama a glass of water!) One of the best things about this book was that you get 2 love stories for the price of one (think Cinderella meets the Ugly Duckling). But this was FAR from a fairy tale my friends. This is a baby making book. I am still amazed that this was the authors very first book. I look forward to reading more of her works. I have a feeling we will be hearing a lot more from her in the future.
