For such a short book Fix You really packed a punch; as you would expect with a heroine who has breast cancer there were highs and lows which offered an emotional roller coaster of a book and I loved the ride.~ Under the Covers

Best friends since they were ten and now twenty five years later they are flatmates, Zoey and Robbie would do anything for each other. However, on a wine fogged New Years Eve Zoey makes a resolution to tell Robbie that she loves him as more than just her friend. But her plans are ruined when she finds a lump on her breast and is diagnosed with cancer. Robbie’s band are about to hit stardom, but when he hears Zoey’s strained voice over the phone he knows something is wrong and hurries back home to her. When he sees her he realizes that he doesn’t want fame and fortune in his future he wants her, but there are many trials and tribulations ahead, can they survive as a couple or will this ruin their friendship forever?

This is my first Mari Carr book but it definitely won’t be my last! For such a short book Fix You really packed a punch; as you would expect with a heroine who has breast cancer there were highs and lows which offered an emotional roller coaster of a book and I loved the ride.

However, this wasn’t an in depth look in to what living with breast cancer is like, at its heart Fix You is a tender love story with a sexy edge between Robbie and Zoey. It shows you their journey from childhood friendship to their adult relationship and all the pivotal moments in between and I loved that it went back in time to show the key moments in their friendship throughout the past twenty five years it added a layer of depth to their relationship as you see their history together. And Zoey and Robbie were such a great couple, I don’t understand why it took them so long to get together! Robbie was sweet and supportive with a hidden kinky side; the sex in this book was smokin’ hot! And Zoey was tough and brave, together they made a cute pair.

I am definitely reading the next in this series and looking for some more Mari Carr in the meantime! Fix You was short, but sweet.

About Mari Carr

Writing a book was number one on Mari Carr’s bucket list and on her thirty-fourth birthday, she set out to see that goal achieved. Five years later, her computer is jammed full of stories — novels, novellas, short stories and dead-ends and six of her books have been published.

High school librarian by day and mother of two busy teenagers, Mari Carr found time for writing by squeezing it into the hours between 3 a.m. and daybreak when her family is asleep and the house is quiet.

I love emotional rollercoaster books-thanks Suz for the heads up on this!

I’ve read a few of Mari’s books–sucks that this is such a short story. With that kind of premise, and the fact that they, as a couple, have to deal with cancer, it would have been better as a full length. Hate it when that happens; it makes me feel like I got jipped.
Great post.
