Author of the Month
A big thank you to our lovely Author of the Month, Lorelei James! We hope that you found our posts featuring her books helpful to you. If you missed it, you can view them here.
In honor of Lorelei James and her hot cowboys, we decided to do a cowboy week for you all. It was really just an excuse for us to “invite you to ride a cowboy”.

Best of 2012:
It was hard but we manage to pick our favorite books of the year!! Check it out and tell us if you agree or not!
December was GREAT month for me. I had a few good reads and I’ve found a few new authors that I will be following from now on.
Robin Kaye – Hometown Girl & Back to You. It’s Contemporary: Bad Boys of Red Hook series.
Cecy Robson – The Weird Girls & Sealed with a Curse. It’s a UF series: Weird Girls I’m excited for this series, it has kick ass heroines.
Gina Robinson – Live and Let Love (Agent Ex #3). I know this is #3 but I didn’t know that. But it’s good enough that I am going back to read the first 2 books. Another Contemporary
Brei Betzold – My Misery Muse. Oh this one is a good rock star story with tats and piercings. LOL
Callahan, Coreene – Knight Awakened. This is book one of Circle of Seven series. A historical with magic and dragons.
Laurie London’s Assasin’s Touch is a short PNR and a start to a great new series.
Shadow’s Claim (The Dacians: Realm of Blood and Mist, #1) by Kresley Cole…Well, it’s Kresley Cole, you know it’s good.
Holly Lane by Toni Blake (Contemporary Romance) – I adore Blake’s Destiny series, but HOLLY LANE just might be my favorite of the series (either that, or tied with ONE RECKLESS SUMMER). This is such a fun holiday read and omg, the CABIN SEX!! Just read it for the cabin sex!
Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet (Urban Fantasy) – This might be my favorite of the series! Jones really packs a punch in this one and I definitely rec this entire series. I dare you not to enjoy yourself while reading these books.
Lover Mine, Lover Unleashed and Lover Reborn (Paranormal Romance) – Yep. I went on a BDB reading binge, which doesn’t happen often but I decided that with the holidays, I could indulge a little bit. And OH MAN, I fall deeper in love with these guys every time I reread. I even cried a few times, despite knowing what happens already. You really can’t go wrong with BDB. Ever.
I got to read some great books in December, but the first one I have to bring to EVERYONE’S attention….yet again…
Undeniable by Madeline Sheehan – Even after a week of having finished this book, I still think about it every day. I wish I was still reading it, that I could still be in the lives of Deuce and Eva.
Rush by Maya Banks – Yes I know it’s not out yet, but you just have to put this one on your TBR piles for February. This book was so great! It’s like mixing Bared To You by Sylvia Day but with the sense of friendship you would find in Maya Banks Sweet series or Shayla Black’s Wicked Ties. Not just one damaged guy but a few of them. *swoon*
Fall Into You by Roni Loren – I just love Roni Loren, and I think you should be reading her series. That’s just it, plain and simple.
If you are in the mood for historicals, two of my fave authors have great books out now:
The Scandalous, Dissolute, No-Good, Mr. Wright by Tessa Dare – This was just an awesome short story, it’s a standalone. And Tessa Dare can always do a wonderful short story.
The Duchess War and A Kiss for Midwinter by Courtney Milan – The Brothers Sinister is Courtney Milan’s new historical and it has all the elements I’ve come to love in her books. Definitely a series not to miss.
Last but not least…
Gone Country by Lorelei James – Yes! Our author of the month rocked my socks off with this McKay book. It was amazing maybe because it was so different than the other McKays, but it had its own appeal. Loved it!
