The Boy in the lot was a very quick read (only 18 pages) but I have to say from the beginning of the novel I was intrigued.

When his father is offered a new job, 11 year old Mark Davis has to leave behind his friends and his home. While traveling his father decides to stop for the night and stay at a vacant motel. (Ok this might be just me, but I don’t stop at creepy motels. I rather drive than stay at a nasty bug infested place lol) Timbuktu (Marks Dog) decides that he wants to go out for a walk, and hey his father gives him the “OK” to take the dog out. Time Out, why is an 11yr old walking around by himself at night in a town he’s never been too? Poor parenting skill! While walking Tim, Mark sees a shadow figure in the distance and decides to follow it (atta boy) thinking it’s his dog who ran ahead of him. And you’ll just have to read the story to find out what happens next.

Ronald Malfi has done an amazing job with grabbing the readers attention. The way he ended the story has me wanting to go out and buy the rest of the series (which I am). I would recommend this short story to anyone looking for a quick and easy read.
