I was feeling a bit in need of something a bit spicier to read since most of the books I’ve been reading lately are just a tad more serious, or for some reason, kind of lacking in the sexy department.  So, I went looking on Amazon (even though I have a million and one books to read that would fit this bill) and I was sold on the cover.  Basically the cover and the Samhain warning, which always makes me want to buy a book anyway.

Lone Wyatt just left his ranch after his brother married the perfect girl.  It’s better for him to stay away for a while and figure out what he wants.  He happens to stumble into a small town bar, sees a pretty lady and goes right for the gold.  Yeah, meaning he’s pretty straight forward about what he wants from her.  But then the next day he ends up at her ranch, being hired as her ranch help.

Charli was devastated five years ago when her husband died.  She thought she would end up with her foreman and her late husbands’ best friend, but that hasn’t worked out at all.  No sparks.  But with this cowboy, Lone, all her buttons are pushed in the best of ways.  So what he’s younger than her?  She agrees to at least have a one weekend of fun.  But he had other plans.

This book was hot and sweet, maybe if you’re not looking for extremely believable since their romance is pretty quick, but just what I wanted to read.  And Lone was just the cowboy to heat things up in the bedroom, and the parking lot, and the hay loft in the barn, and… you get the picture.

I have just realized that there are other two books in this Red Hot Weekend short stories series by Samhain, so I’ll be getting to the rest soon.

About Delilah Devlin

Until recently, award-winning romance author Delilah Devlin lived in South Texas at the intersection of two dry creeks, surrounded by sexy cowboys in Wranglers. These days, she’s missing the wide-open skies and starry nights but loving her dark forest in Central Arkansas, with its eccentric characters and isolation—the better to feed her hungry muse!

For Delilah, the greatest sin is driving between the lines, because it’s comfortable and safe. Her personal journey has taken her through one war and many countries, cultures, jobs, and relationships to bring her to the place where she is now—writing sexy adventures that hold more than a kernel of autobiography and often share a common thread of self-discovery and transformation.

Delilah Devlin is a prolific and award-winning author of erotica and erotic romance with a rapidly expanding reputation for writing deliciously edgy stories with complex characters. Whether creating dark, erotically-charged paranormal worlds or richly descriptive historical stories that ring with authenticity, Delilah Devlin “pens in uncharted territory that will leave the readers breathless and hungering for more…” (Paranormal Reviews) Ms. Devlin has published over 100 erotic stories in multiple genres and lengths.

She is published by Atria/Strebor, Avon, Berkley, Black Lace, Cleis Press, Ellora’s Cave, Harlequin Spice, Kensington, Running Press, and Samhain Publishing.

I’m a 30 something sun lover living in the Big Apple (read New York).I’m a book and coffee addict and lover of all things elephants.

I get easily distracted by pictures of sexy guys and have tons of book boyfriends.I keep all my alpha males chained to my basement and guard them fiercely.*Back off bitches*I like to see Jason Momoa as a lot of those boyfriends, because ….. mmmmmmm JASON.MOMOA!

I’m a part time graphic designer (yes, everything you see on UTC has been done by me), run my husband's business from home and on a good day I’m a self appointed superwoman (she who can do it all).I love blogging with my girls and I couldn’t do it any other way!My first love is everything paranormal, but in the past few years I’ve re-learned to love contemporary romance.Every once in a while I like to mix things up with a historical romance, a steampunk or an LGBT book.Because I need variety to avoid book slumps.I don’t always need an HEA although I prefer one, and I love authors that can rip my heart out and make me ugly cry.
