Whenever I ask for BDSM recommendations, I am told the same two words all the time: Cherise Sinclair. Curiosity got the best of me and I read an excerpt of this book online. I was instantly hooked and delved right into Club Shadowlands.

This is a novella so I was quite impressed by the story that bloomed between Master Z and Jessica. When Jessica finds herself stuck in her car in the middle of the storm, she seeks shelter in a private club for the night. Unbeknownst to her, she signs in without reading the contract which outlines what kind of private club it is. Soon, she realizes that she may be in over her head when she goes bug-eyed at witnessing scenes between Doms and their subs. Even more surprising is the fact that she finds something darkly sensual about it.

That feeling ignites when she meets Master Z, the owner of the club. Zachery is a great Dom. He’s potent man, just barely contained and you can tell he possesses a lot of power. I really enjoyed him. But perhaps what made him more desirable is the fact that he embraces the fact that Jessica is a more conservative person who isn’t used to this lifestyle. His patience with her makes me weak in the knees. And it’s their blooming trust between one another that makes me love this book the most. It’s a little baffling to see this development with such a short book, so I must give Sinclair a hand for this. Great pacing and character development!

I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series. If this book is any indication of what to expect, then I’m in good hands.

About Cherise Sinclair

Having to wear glasses in elementary school can scar a person for life. Dubbed a nerd at an early age, Cherise Sinclair has been trying to live up to the stereotype ever since. And what better way than being an author?

Known for writing deeply emotional stories, the USA Today Bestselling Author has penned sixteen erotic romance novels, most with a BDSM theme. (Please do not mention the phrase mommy porn in her presence.) Her awards range from a National Leather Award to a Romantic Times Reviewer’s Choice nomination to a GoodReads BDSM group award for best author of the year. Called an “ascendant erotica queen” by Rolling Stone Magazine, Cherise spends her days writing, supervised by a sadistic calico cat.

I’m an obsessive makeup junkie and a compulsive reader. I like to call Under the Covers Book Blog my stomping ground, but when I’m not talking about books with my girls, I write New Adult Dystopian and Contemporary Romance under the pen name Ana Jolene (http://www.anajolene.com). I also work as a virtual assistant for authors. You also can find me as a reviewer and columnist for FreshFiction.com.

When it comes to books I’m pretty adventurous. I read everything from Paranormal Romance to Urban Fantasy, New Adult, BDSM, LGBT fiction, Cozy Mysteries and even YA. If it’s got the littlest trace of romance in it, then I’ll probably read it. That being said, my all-time favorite authors are J.R. Ward and Karen Marie Moning.

When I’m not submerged in a good book, you can find me musing about makeup and planners or dreaming about Kpop boys and beaches. Until then, check out my reviews and let’s talk books!

I’ve had this one on my TBR list for a while. I’ve gone back and forth about reading it, but I think you just convinced me to give it a try.

I just finished reading this series (all those released so far)! None of them disappointed me, I loved each one and can’t wait for more! I am definitely a huge fan of Ms Cherise Sinclair. I have The Dom’s Dungeon too but have not read it yet–trying to get caught up on some other books before it, and then I will have to find more of her books to read. LOL

This is a wonderful series. You should also try her Mountain Masters series. They are just as hot and as good as the Shadowlands. I can’t wait for the next Shadowland book, Master Raoul’s story *swoon*

It’s due November and I can’t wait for this month to end. It seems like time is slowing down just to torture me. There’s also The Dom’s Dungeon that is a very good story and I’m hoping that Ms. Sinclair will transform the book into a series, as there were some interesting Doms introduced there 😀

I loved this series (5th one especially!) and it got me looking for more of this type but other books I found from other authors were even shorter and just not that great. What I loved about the Shadowlands books is some time actually happens for the characters to get to know each other a bit. I want more!! I hope Cherise keeps writing for a long long time 🙂

November huh? Well I hope I can catch up then! I am really looking forward to reading some more of her work!

I’m interested in Cullen’s book, KitenMittens. But I dont think that’s the next one, right? Have you read Shayla Black’s Wicked Lovers series? The first, fourth and fifth book are BDSM. Belong to Me is my fave. 5+ stars!

I think Cullen’s book is number 4. I haven’t read the Wicked Lovers series but I’ll definitely check them out now! Thank you!
