Books have the power to unite people and that is exactly what happened with us! Our love for books have brought us together and we’ve become good friends in a short amount of time. We “met” online through Goodreads and decided to share our passion of books with fellow book lovers. And that is how Under the Covers came to be…
I’m a 32 sun lover living in the Big Apple (read New York). I’m a book publicist by day (with Rock Star Lit) and book blogger (here at UTC) by night. As you can easily see, I’m a book addict. Also coffee addict and lover of all things elephants.
I get easily distracted by pictures of sexy guys and have tons of book boyfriends. I keep all my alpha males chained to my basement and guard them fiercely. *Back off bitches* I like to see Jason Momoa as a lot of those boyfriends, because ….. mmmmmmm JASON.MOMOA!
I’m a part time graphic designer (yes, everything you see on UTC has been done by me) and on a good day I’m a self appointed superwoman (she who can do it all). I love blogging with my girls and I couldn’t do it any other way! My first love is everything paranormal, but in the past few years I’ve learned to love contemporary romance. Every once in a while I like to mix things up with a historical romance, a steampunk or an LGBT book. Because I need variety to avoid book slumps. I don’t always need an HEA although I prefer one, and I love authors that can rip my heart out and make me ugly cry.
I’m a 26 year old obsessive makeup junkie and a compulsive reader. I like to call Under the Covers Book Blog my stomping ground, but when I’m not talking about books with my girls, I’m also a reviewer for FreshFiction.com. Over there, I’m also a columnist. I have a column called Into the Night that discusses the latest and greatest news in the Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy genre. I also work as a virtual assistant for authors.
When it comes to books I’m pretty adventurous. I read everything from Paranormal Romance to Urban Fantasy, to New Adult, BDSM, LGBT fiction and even YA. If it’s got the littlest trace of romance in it, I’ll probably read it. That being said, my all-time favorite authors are J.R. Ward and Karen Marie Moning.
When I’m not submerged in a good book, you can find me musing about makeup and fashion or dreaming about boys and beaches. My love for all things David Gandy is well documented on the Internet and we’ll be getting married shortly. I’ll be sure to send you an invite to the wedding! ;P Until then, check out my reviews and let’s talk books!
Gosh, we all seem to be admitting our ages…and I hate that I am at the point in life when admitting my age is a “thing”…whodda thunk it? I was kind of hoping I would remain 21 forever. However, I have moved out of that New Adult stage of my life and am now strictly in the Contemporary Romance age zone of 28. I would prefer to be in an Urban Fantasy arena, but I don’t think I own enough black leather. However, I could probably squeeze into some PNR, I am fully prepared to give a horn job to my favourite demon, or suck on my sexy vamps…fangs and I am definitely up for some heavy petting with some fine looking shifters. Than again their’s always Sci Fi…I am fully prepared to do the right thing and help some poor alien race with more 6 packs than a supermarket repopulate their planet. Not that I am loose woman or anything.
Annnnnd I will stop myself there, before I start waxing lyrical about my love of historical romance and fantasy as well; no one needs to know about my elf fantasies. As you can tell, I adore and day dream about most romance genres, and my three big loves are 1) reading about romance 2) writing about romance and 3) talking about romance with my gals. Which, is why I love Under the Covers so much, I get all my bookish needs satisfied and don’t get judged when I talk about my favourite characters like they are real people. Which they are right?
I am young at heart and a die hard romantic living in California. I am happily married to a man who understands my love for reading, blogging and my book boyfriends. I have two beautiful girls who are also avid readers but forbidden to any of my books. I like running, CrossFit and eating healthy but not necessarily good at it. My motto is “I have the right to choose my calories” and often, my choice of poison is a bag of Flammin’ Hot Cheetos.
I coblog and review here at Under the Covers and occasionally review for Hot Listens. I love to read PNR, UF, Contemporary, New Adult, and Romantic Suspense. Occasionally, I will venture to Erotica, BDSM reads and rarely Historical Romance. There are some sub-genres that I don’t always enjoy, but I’m open to stepping out of my comfort zone. For the most part, as long as there’s a hint of romance, I’m pretty much in.
I’m a 30-something medical professional by day and obsessive Crossfitter by night who’s been in love with the written word since I can remember. And that means that I read every Nancy Drew and Nancy Drew Files until I snuck Stephen King’s It from my father’s bookshelf at age 10. I was never the same… I read voraciously for years, until academic pursuits derailed me, but re-entered the fray 8 years ago when a certain teen paranormal series caught my attention. The passion back, I haven’t stopped since. When I’m not working, working out, or traipsing around for my teenage son’s hectic activity schedule, you can find me with Kindle in hand, often until the wee hours of the night.
I’m well known to be a genre hopper, who has very few hard limits. My first real romance series was J.R. Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood and she still rocks my paranormal world, along with Karen Moning’s Fever series and Joey Hill’s Vampire Queen series. That being said, you’ll often see me reading erotic romance with a BDSM focus. I’m never afraid of dark and dubious reads a la Joey Hill, Tiffany Reisz and Cari Silverwood. When genre fatigue sets in, a witty historical romance never fails to satisfy me, and Lisa Kleypas and Sarah MacLean are my auto-buys. My favorite series of all time is Diana Gabaldon’s Outlader saga, and I will fight for Jamie Fraser to the death ;). Much to my fellow romance readers’ surprise, I also cleanse my palate with popular contemporary reads. Romantic suspense. LGBT. Western. If the writing is on, I’ll dig in.
I’m a 30 year old food and wine-aholic with a slight makeup obsession. When I’m not working long hours at the office, you can find me at home living the toddler life. So needless to say, after everyone is tucked in I like to spend my nights getting lost in a good book. Paranormal Romance seems to be my go to but these days I’ve been branching out and enjoying New Adult and Contemporary Romance.
The lovely ladies of UTC help me venture out into other genres to fill all my naughty little voids and in return I get to feel cool and do some reviews for them.

I am an “X” year old hotel executive lover of all things romance (It was instilled in me that after age 20 a lady should never reveal her age, lol). My love of romance began with Spanish telenovelas at a young age. I spent great spans of time with my grandparents who did not speak English and became engrossed in the world of telenovelas as they were always playing on the TV in their home. In my teens some of my first ventures into romance were Forever by Judy Blume, Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, and Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. With the passage of time when I went to college I read anything that was available in the limited market, and romance section at the local B&N. My first favorites were by Jude Deveraux, Judith McNaught, Johanna Lindsey, Linda Lael Miller, Amanda Quick aka Jayne Ann Krentz, and Sandra Brown.
I go through genre phases at times but will read just about anything romance with the exception of NA/YA which I tend to stay away from. I have read some romances with MM roles however it is not what I prefer unless there is a Menage MMF relationship. The vast availability of talented work by so many authors and all at the click of a button make it feel like it’s Christmas every day and my wallet feels it as well, though sometimes some books I buy feel like lumps of coal in my stocking. I am trying to get on track with using Goodreads so I can keep it all straight. I live for the moments when I can lay in the sun on a beautiful island destination with my family, a tropical drink nearby, and my trusty paperwhite in hand, or just spending quality time with great friends, family or a book on my nook or kindle!
I am a wife and mom of two sassy and fabulous kids, and I have decided I will be forever 39. After college, I became a paralegal and read only legal documents and eventually some baby naming books. Then about six years ago, I needed to check out all the hype of some teenage vampire romance, and that was all she wrote. It didn’t take me long to rediscover my love of reading that I had throughout my youth, and I was devouring every paranormal romance and urban fantasy series I could get my grabby hands on.
Through Amazon forums and Goodreads, I met a lot of amazing women with that same passion, including the lovely ladies who started UTC. While those genres will always be two of my favorites, I have discovered that M/M romance is my primary love. That kiss between Qhuinn and Blay in Phury’s book (you BDB lovers know what I’m talking about!) sealed the deal for me. I love a story where love is hard fought and hard won. I am also a firm believer that EVERYONE deserves love and a happy ending, and the beauty in achieving that is what keeps me coming back for more.
I have amassed quite a collection of book boyfriends through the years, with the top two being John Matthew and Jamie Fraser. **le sigh** In the M/M genre, my best buddy is Randy Jensen. Two of my favorite tropes are Friends to Lovers and Out for You, and I enjoy just about any subgenre – PNR, UF, contemporary, historical, RomCom, Young Adult, Erotica, Mystery/Thriller – in my M/M romance. As long as it is written well, eventually gives me an HEA, and makes me have all the feels, I am one happy girl.
