7th Blogiversary: Angela

Posted May 17, 2018 by Angela in Best Of, Front Page, Under the Covers / 33 Comments

Can you believe that Under the Covers Book Blog has now reached it’s seventh birthday? At this point seven years ago, Francesca, Annie and I were novices hashing out the types of posts we were going to do and nervously posting our first reviews. Now, seven years later… we added Angela to the team and are still hashing out our posts and hoping you like our reviews! And, in that seven years we have read a lot of books, some we’ve loved, some we’ve hated. But we wanted to celebrate that special book that has stuck with us over the years. So, this week we are each going to highlight the book we would want if we were on a deserted island.

Next up is Angela!

During the Blogiversary celebration week we will post a MYSTERY bundle of books each day.
This works the same as our usual blogiversary giveaways except you won’t know what you are entering for because we thought it would be fun to make it a surprise for you when you open your book mail. 🙂  Kinda like a birthday present. What we CAN tell you is that each bundle has 4 books.  One of those books is SIGNED.  And the signed copies featured in these bundles are by:
Kristen Ashley, Elle Kennedy, Christina Lauren, Tessa Bailey, Rachel Blaufeld, Lara Adrian
You just don’t know which one you are getting!  Neither do we, the envelopes have been randomly sealed already!

To enter for the mystery pack of the day, use the Rafflecopter below.
Enter EACH Rafflecopter every day!!  One winner will be selected from each.

But wait… there’s more!
Comment on any of our posts this week and we will select 5 random commenters to win a UTC mug.

Blogger/Reviewer at Under the Covers Book Blog
I am young at heart and a die hard romantic living in California.I am happily married to a man who understands my love for reading, blogging and my book boyfriends. I have two beautiful girls who are also avid readers but forbidden to any of my books.I like running, CrossFit and eat healthy but not necessarily good at it.My motto is “I have the right to choose my calories” and often, my choice of poison is a bag of Flammin’ Hot Cheetos.

I coblog and review here at Under the Covers and occasionally review for Hot Listens.I love to read PNR, UF, Contemporary, New Adult, and Romantic Suspense. Occasionally, I will venture to Erotica, BDSM reads and rarely Historical Romance. There are some sub-genres that I don’t always enjoy, but I’m open to stepping out of my comfort zone. For the most part, as long as there’s a hint of romance, I’m pretty much in.

I read this book because so many people loved it, but I never really became a fan of the series. J.R. ward is a very good writer, but I prefer her contemporary romances.

I was a huge fan of Sherrilyn’s Dark-Hunter series until I got to Acheron… it was so dark and depressing I couldn’t finish and then I stopped reading the series. 🙁 I’ve not read Sarah J Maas. But I do love Dark Lover and the BDB world! I think my deserted island book might be Nalini Singh’s Slave to Sensation. I absolutely adore the entire Psy-Changeling series and re-read it often. 🙂

Happy blogiversary!

I’ve read and enjoyed the books in this series. Lover Awakened (Zsadist’s story) is my favorite of the series. I love Acheron, too, and have read the second half a number of times, because I really don’t want to read the dark, depressing, painful first part, again!

Been tempted to start with LOVER AT LAST just because it’s m/m, even though I’d probably be lost…

I love it!!! Happy Blogiversary, gorgeous girls! If I were stuck on a deserted island, it would be a tossup between JR’s Lover Awakened, and Julia Quinn’s The Duke and I. Le Sigh…

I love Dark Lover!! It’s definitely a book I could re-read. I think I would bring Devil in Winter by Lisa Kleypas. It’s a book I’ve read so many times!

I love Acheron, though Styxx stole his place as number one. Mrs. Kenyon is one of my most favorite authors. She’s the sweetest. I have that Maas book on my Roundabout list this year. I do love the BDB books, but I stopped reading at some point. Dark Lover is a great one, though. I’ve read it more than once.

Hi Angela! Well, I have just decided I will never go to a deserted island because I can’t pick just one book. It’s literally impossible! J.R. Ward’s DARK LOVER was my very first adult romance read. I quickly fell in love with the characters and storytelling. I’ve always loved vampires and I love this unique twist on the vampire tale! And you absolutely can’t go wrong with a hero like Wrath! The Black Dagger Brotherhood series is one of my very favorites and I’m glad you picked it!
