Take a seat, grab some popcorn and an ice refreshing beverage and lets Netflix and chill. No you dirty minded individuals not like that, we want to share with you some recommendations about what we are watching and listening to. For those times when you just need to put your book down and plonk in front of the TV and relax. Whether it’s on Netflix, Amazon Prime, regular TV channels or a podcast, we are going to let you know what shows, films and podcasts we’ve been enjoying and share the love.
I didn’t watch a whole lot of stuff, honestly, this past month. What is wrong with me??? I feel like I’ve been deprived of TV lately. LOL Just no time. I did manage to catch up with Outlander and thankfully I enjoyed the last few episodes more than the beginning of the season. Somehow all that time at sea felt like it dragged a little and I can’t wait to see things move forward from where we left off. But also, I wasn’t left with the anticipation I felt the previous ending of seasons. Nonetheless, I’ll continue watching because… Jamie Fraser.
I also finished catching up on THIS IS US and OMG where I thought the beginning of the series had lost my interest, we are finally back on track. I loved the episodes they did from each one of the siblings POV and then we are finally getting to the point where we will know how Jack died. This obviously came a bit into February instead of January so a little cheat but after the SuperBowl we finally get the episode that tells us what happened. It was sad and devastating, but honestly I was more angry and upset than anything else. It was so stupid! First of all because…. Kate! … but then I can’t only blame her because Jack was an idiot for listening to her. And then I feel like everything else could’ve been avoided had he talked about what he was feeling instead of trying to act all macho and … I can take it, everything is fine. So I was just left a little pissed off and angry. And yes, sad as well. Ok rant over.
Last I got into THE ASSASSINATION OF GIANNI VERSACE: AMERICAN CRIME STORY. One because, Gianni Versace! And two because I’m always fascinated to get a little deeper into the minds and reasoning of killers. While I’ve watched quick shows about what happened to Gianni Versace and about Andrew Cunanan and all the assumptions because I guess we’ll never really truly know, I was really interested to see this because instead of being a forensic investigation type show it’s a reenactment of the events as they are believed to have happened. Couldn’t be happier with this and I’m gobbling it up any chance I get.
If you really want a taste of the British life and a window into our sense of humour than I have an absolutely fantastic podcast for you. BBC Radio 2’s Confessions Podcast. It’s where members of the British public right in confessing their, hilarious, sins and the hosts decide whether or not they can be forgiven. From confessions of pranks, or telling little white lies to kids with unforeseen and funny consequences it’s a podcast that has had me snorting with laughter, quite often in public places, and well worth a listen to.
Not much has been happening with me. I finished rewetting Goblin and enjoyed it just as much as the first time. I’m still watching all those reality TV shows and since episodes come out once a week, it’s hard to be patient and wait for them. That’s why I went back to watch an older show called Fruits Baskets. I simply devoured this series and am reminded once again of why I fell in love with it in the first place. It tackles such interesting concepts, not all lighthearted so I like that they weren’t afraid to tackle those darker issues.
What are you all watching/listening to?
