Take a seat, grab some popcorn and an ice refreshing beverage and lets Netflix and chill. No you dirty minded individuals not like that, we want to share with you some recommendation about what we are watching and listening to. For those times when you just need to put your book down and plonk in front of the TV and relax. Whether it’s on Netflix, Amazon Prime, regular TV channels or a podcast, we are going to let you know what shows, films and podcasts we’ve been enjoying and share the love.
Apparently this month I’ve run out of things to watch on TV. Not really, but I did find myself looking for things to binge on. Honestly, the past few years there were many series that I thought I wouldn’t want to get into so I didn’t watch them. August was the time for SONS OF ANARCHY. This was actually my hubby that wanted to get started and I just won’t say no to Charlie Hunnam.
We.Cannot.Stop.Watching! At first I was a bit disappointed that it didn’t seem too badass. I wanted more LOL But then as we get to the close of season 1 I was hit with the “oh shit!” moments.
We are now finished with season 2 and I just have to say I have a huge crush on Gemma because she’s such a bitch but she has a big heart at times and I admire her strength. Jax Teller… Well, I’m in love.
Bring on the rest of the seasons! I’ll probably finish the whole thing in another week or less 😉
What I’m excited about in September? Other than continuing to binge on SoA, I plan on binging on season one of OUTLANDER, which is currently available free on Starz on Demand. Plus, the best show on TV comes back (FINALLY!) and I’ll be full of snot and tears with THIS IS US.
We also want to remind you guys that PassionFlix launched this September! So exciting to see the romance books we love made into movies. This September we see the premiere of HOLLYWOOD DIRT by Alessandra Torre on PassionFlix. Be sure to sign up at passionflix.com
Okay, while talking about getting on the bandwagon of TV series; I’ve also recently jumped on that wagon. While Francesca started SOA, I started Game of Thrones. Why it took me so long? Well, honestly, I barely have time for reading and TV shows are just the least of my priorities. And so, with this season’s buzz, I was intrigued and thus, forcing DH to watch it with me. Honestly, he wasn’t very interested until one of his buds said: “It’s a sexy show” with a wag of his eyebrows. Got him to watch alright. LOL
Not on Netflix but HBO on demand, we started watching Season 1. Episode 1. And OMG, this show is pretty awesome. With the highlight of Jason Mamoa, I can’t stop thinking about this show. Mamoa especially, LOL. While his character has barely anything to say, he is definitely making his presence known. This guy is savage!!!! I know, I know. He won’t stay with this show very long so, I’m prepared. Thanks for the warning, Fran. We’re up to Ep. 4 and so far I’m liking it a lot. Hating the Queen bitch, loving the dragon lady, and the snow dude is super cute. I’m hoping this show will have someone to replace Mamoa. He’s so pretty to look at.
I’m hoping I can catch up on all the shows before next season. From what I hear, it gets better each season. We shall see.
I feel like I might end up being “Podcast Corner” in these posts! I love podcasts, I do watch TV, especially if I find something excellent to binge on. But podcasts…I can’t live without, not a day goes by when I haven’t listened to something, either walking to work, at work, at the gym, walking home from work, on a car journey…basically any excuse to put my headphones I take advantage of so I can listen to something interesting. So, onwards to the particular podcast I am recommending. This one has been going for a while and I recently started listening to it again, but, I must give you a warning… it may (for me this is ALWAYS) make you laugh to yourself as you’re listening, so be prepared to look like a crazy.
It’s called “No Such Thing as a Fish” and each week the presenters bring their favourite fact of the week. Sounds boring right? WRONG. It’s hilarious, I have learnt so many random things all with a massive grin on my face. For example, did you know that baby elephants suck their trunks, much like we suck our thumbs, for comfort? Or that boxing with gloves is more dangerous than bare knuckles? Or that fossilised poo is more valuable if it is “that classic poo shape”?
So, give this podcast a go, admittedly it’s very British, so if you want a taste of UK humour, it’s another reason to give this podcast a try!
What are you all watching/listening to?
