“Christina Lauren didn’t just write a one-night-stand type of story. They gave gave this couple an intense beginning and one hell of an ending” ~ Under the Covers
It started out as a Dirty Rowdy Thing but I assure you, Finn and Harlow’s relationship is anything but. Christina Lauren didn’t just write a one-night-stand type of story. They gave gave this couple an intense beginning and one hell of an ending.
Though this was an anticipated read, I wasn’t all that sure I was going to like Finn. He was so uptight, serious and he seemed complicated. Honestly, I didn’t know how Cristina Lauren can soften him up but to know Finn is to love him. Just like Harlow, I presumed that the kind of person he is is someone who can never love anyone else but himself. Boy was I wrong. He is quite the opposite. He is more complicated then I imagined.
Harlow is simple. She wanted sex and that’s all there is to it. She needed an escape and Finn is the only person who can provide it. But her escape somehow became an addiction that turned to love. It was sweet really but their biggest issues are his complications.
I love that CL had given this couple realistic issues. They both have real life problems and coming into a relationship in the middle of chaos happens all the time. Finn and Harlow will tackle trust issues and a whole lot of familial problems. As CL’s usual MO, this book was hot!!! Even sexier than the previous book. Finn really surprised me with his skills to pleasure a woman and hearing this book in audio derailed me.
Narrators Sebastian York and Shayna Thibodeaux did a magnificent job with this book. The way they spoke was realistic in tone and pace. I didn’t have the need to switch to my ebook nor speed up the pace. Wait until you hear the smexy scenes. Sebastian york and Shayna Thibkdeaux are sure sure bring a blush out of you. With all that said, I can’t wait to get to the next book of this series.

I coblog and review here at Under the Covers and occasionally review for Hot Listens.I love to read PNR, UF, Contemporary, New Adult, and Romantic Suspense. Occasionally, I will venture to Erotica, BDSM reads and rarely Historical Romance. There are some sub-genres that I don’t always enjoy, but I’m open to stepping out of my comfort zone. For the most part, as long as there’s a hint of romance, I’m pretty much in.
