Author Override is the place where authors take the reins and take you on a journey into their world. Some may allow you into their private writing dens. Others may take you along with them on research trips or interviews. Whatever the case may be, sit back, relax and enjoy the ride because here you’ll get an in-depth look into an author’s musings.

My Biggest Challenge Yet… Tony’s POV! – Aleatha Romig
I enjoy reading a great sex scene. I promise writing it doesn’t make me nervous or self-conscious – I like it. However, recently I offered my readers a unique Christmas gift. They could have one scene from each book in the opposite POV… I let them choose.
The readers chose a sex scene with Tony and Claire… from TONY’S POV!!! OMG – I had to rethink every thought I’ve ever had about sex. For the past thirty plus years… I’m older than that but didn’t give sex much thought during the first decade of my life. Anyway, for the past thirty plus years I’ve seen sex through the woman’s eyes. Suddenly I was panicking … I mean, what do men think about during sex?
I decided to ask! I started with my husband. He has on numerous occasions been very helpful. This was not one of them. He stared at me and finally said, “Nothing”. Wow! If that’s true, that would be one very boring scene!!! Later he told me, there is no right answer to that question… hmmm I can think of a few, but all right.
Next, I asked my boss. Yes, I did. We’ve worked together for eighteen years. He knows I write — so why not? He turned eight shades (not quite 50) of red and walked away!
Needless to say, my research was not coming as I’d hoped. Not what I wanted for a “hot sex scene”!
So, I tried one more time. I called my adult son. Okay, in hindsight maybe this wasn’t the best move, but I was desperate and he’s my son, he’s always told me everything, right? Apparently not!
The conversation went something like, “Hi! I’m writing this scene from Tony’s POV and wondered if you could help?”
“Mom, I’m about ready to walk into my last final.” He just graduated – so my question didn’t mess up his final too much.
“Oh, it won’t take long.” I forged ahead, “What do guys think about during sex?”
“What? Are you kidding?”
“No, just give it to me in a nutshell.”
“I’m NOT having this conversation with my mother. Besides, there are people all around.”
“They don’t know who you’re talking to.”
“Bye, Mom.” silence….
Left to my own devices, I decided to write it as — what I WANT a man to be thinking…
As I told my friends, I did it. I wrote it. It was hard, but it was good!

Besieged by memories of a brutal abduction, Claire Nichols wakes in an unfamiliar bedroom, within a luxurious mansion. Her recollections have one common denominator, the man she just met, Anthony Rawlings. Unbeknownst to Claire, for a very long time, she has been within Anthony’s sights. Many of the pivotal events in her life occurred, due to his sinister manipulation. Every action has a consequence, and his actions result in their chance meeting. More than a psychological thriller, Consequences is a vivid story of one woman’s struggle to survive incomprehensible circumstances. Every aspect of her being suddenly depends upon the tall, wealthy, dark haired, dark eyed businessman. Anthony Rawlings is known to the world as prosperous, benevolent, and kind. Claire quickly learns that he can also be a menacing controlling captor. With few options but concession, Claire attempts to earn her freedom, while enduring a hellish existence that truly appears perfect. Persevering tests and trials, she struggles to retain her pure Midwest values and beliefs. Encouraged by memories of a loving upbringing, she gains strength in the simplest of joys: solitude in nature and good in the face of evil. His goal in sight, Anthony’s calculated agenda encounters an unforeseen detour. He becomes captivated by Claire’s beauty, resilience, and determination. The interaction of these two compelling characters instigates strong emotions: fear, anger, love, and lust. Claire and Anthony’s tumultuous journey flows into uncharted waters of intrigue and passion. Utilizing vivid detail, this 167,000-word novel unfolds like a movie, before the eyes of its readers. From the opening criminal abduction, through twists and turns, to the unlikely romantic thrills, the suspense climaxes as Anthony’s motivation becomes evident. Anthony and Claire must decide if they will stay true to one another, or allow preceding actions to result in justifiable Consequences.

I have yet to read any of your books, but that’s definitely something that will have to change. When I see my husband, I’m going to have to ask him what he thinks about during sex and see if I get the same non-answer that you did!

Ha ha…yes. I even had him read this post, just to be sure he wouldn’t disown me! We do have a great relationship. That said, he still hasn’t given me an answer!

I have read both Consequences and Truth and they blew me away! I loved them both and am anxiously awaiting the last book, Convicted! Aleatha Romig knows how to bring the character’s emotions through the pages to the reader. I definitely recommend them!

The opposite POV’s are on Goodreads in a wonderful group named: The Consequences Series Group Reads Group Therapy and Group Hugs!
They definitely contain spoilers! So, please only read AFTER you’ve read the books!
